They hire members of the public, Looks like the homeless to me, for the rehearsals.

Also during the show, when actors go to the john, they have people to sit in their seats so it doesn't look empty. I read once they use look-a-likes....he obviously isn't one of them....unless it's John Travolta's double wearing the wrong placard  (meiaoooow)

A loo sitter job wouldn't be bad - I wonder how I apply?

A beautiful day on the West Coast and no rain predicted for "Oscar Night" so no BAFTA repeat with the umbrullas.

Apparently the list of Presenters is still in flux.  I belong to another Board of "serious" - no it's obsessed Oscar fans.  They either have someone inside the Kodak Theatre watching the rehearsals or they have pictures.

Tried to get a copy of the night's program but apparently that is not released so we don't know the order of awards.  Someone pointed out that "old" supporting first isn't true anymore as last year they gave out art direction first.  Ok the producers want to keep us all watching so the sponsors make their money - the sponsors are paying as I recall $1.7 million for a 30 second ad.

I can't wait.  I am aiming for it all afternoon.  We are busy today with the first rehearsals of my play.
And the director had originally wanted to have them tonight  :(  But then changed his mind, not cause of
Oscar but just cause...so I am thrilled.

When will the live thread start? At the beginning of the actual awards show? or the red carpet pre-show?

I'm curious how Jon will do also as host.  I know some people don't think
it will work cause his humor is so dry.  But I love it.

I am looking forward to his show tonight. Hope he does well. But I will be all nervous bitting my nails instead of listening to his jokes.

I'm pulling for him and I think he'll do very well.  He has so many good writers behind him who have done the Oscar shows before.  They've been practicing, practicing, practicing for weeks so it will flow smoothly.  I predict (for what it is worth) that he will be a success and will do it again in future years.

As a few of you know, we are not getting the Oscars on BBC this year. Except on cable.

I did not want to re-subscribe to cable for a year....so I got an internet viewer kit online (about $24) I know ...addicted. And it's a one of payment.  :-X

I've tried it out and the oscar link gives a few countries and channels that will be screening it live. I've tuned into a few and it looks like I may be watching with you all and I'll be on the live thread.

I'll be able to view these channels forever now so that's a bonus. Just gotta learn all these new languages now...help me Monicita !
