Deleted Scene. . .
« on: Mar 24, 2006, 05:53 AM »
I hope they include this deleted scene from the movie in the DVD.  I am so curious as to how Jack outed himself.  I don't want any more of the bashing, which I can't look at anyway, but this scene has me so curious.

Ang thought it important enough to film it (even though it wasn't in the screenplay) but then couldn't find a spot in the movie where it wouldn't interrupt the beat of the movie.

Note that the young man in the back is already holding the tireiron.  :(

Tell you what...truth is, sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it...

Of course.  When sales of the first release go down they will issue another version expecting everyone to purchase the DVD again.  Then, when sales of that go down there will be a "Deluxe" edition so everyone can buy that one also.  They get to make triple money on the same movie.

Are you gonna buy all of them?

Thanks for pointing this out, Patriot1.  I think there was also a scene from the trailer that wasn't in the movie in which Jack is standing on the plank over the river, rubbing the back of his neck and shirtless.  The voiceover says, "You have no idea how bad it gets."  :(  Would love to see this one also included in a future edition.

I thought this was Earl, the rancher who was murdered, and one of his killers, maybe even a version of Ennis's father, and hence part of that sequence from Ennis's memory.

That's just plain cruel, teasing us with a glimpse of Jack shirtless, and then not including it >:( I thought there were laws about misleading advertising?  ::)
There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Yes welshwitch, it was Earl that was murdered.

You know, when you think about it, think of the kind of men that could kill another human being for absolutely no reason at all other than it is fun.  Those sick minds must have thought it was fun. There is no other reason to kill him.  Earl and Rich weren't bothering anyone.  They were just going about their lives and minding their own business.  Those sick bustards (sic) just killed him for the fun of it. Makes me weep even harder when I see it in that light.  I mean, there are very few reasons to kill someone but, for fun?

Indeed, especially if they can claim God and Righteousness on their side -- as an added bonus.

It's the usual irony, isn't it, that the God of Love makes one lot of people hate another lot so much? Have you seen Jimmy Swaggert's denunciation of gays  ( on YouTube) ?

I can;t understand gay-bashers - I can never work out whether they're afraid of themselves or other people or....I don't know. It does, however, seem a monstrous act of egotism to take away the life of another human being because you disapprove of their way of life - I would say mediaeval, but it's been happening throughout history, I guess. [this is going OT]
