Banned in Bahamas
« on: Apr 02, 2006, 05:39 PM »
Brokeback is banned in the Bahamas because ( quote form a norwegian newspaper so feel free to correct if it is wrong :) )

"it contains extreme homosexuality  nudity and blasphemy"
"it does not have any value for the people of Bahamas"

yes it was banned in that country I read an article to that effect, and it wasn't very pretty to read, so I did not bother to copy and paste it here, it sums it up as we  are deviants and abomination that dared show this to the people of Black culture in such is an assault to their dignity, as they put it.

Hard to believe in these times but I guess it goes to show that the battle rages.
There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Ennis, riding against the wind back to the sheep in the treacherous, drunken darken light, thought he'd never had such a good time, felt he could paw the white out of the moon.

But cham, of course they don't!! Homosexuality has skipped the Bahamas, didn't you hear? and if they show BBM people might go and see it and become gay all of a sudden, and they can't allow THAT to happen!!!
