Hey everyone,
    I am paranoid about getting the perfect Brokeback Mountain DVD, or at least the best one I can get, and wanted to make sure mine is like everyone elses.  I purchased the Widescreen edition at midnight on Monday night, and although I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I was just wondering about the case and whatnot.  My copy does NOT have the silver around it or say anything about the academy on the front - it's a full picture of the poster with "Four-Star Focus Features Collection" banner across the top and a little "Widescreen" down in the right-hand corner.  I am happy with my cover, but the one thing is that I do NOT have a little booklet or page inside on the right with a chapter list or anything like that.  I guess some movies just don't have them, but I get worried that the particular movie I purchased the booklet was just "forgotten" for that copy.  I think this a lot with DVDs, but they probably just don't have anything inside of them.  I just care about this DVD more than any other one, and would like opinions!  All DVD cases have those little flaps in order to insert a paper with chapters or something on it, and when they don't have a paper in, it bugs me!  I have not heard if there IS any DVDs for Brokeback with a booklet, but I just wanted to hear what everyone else got!
Thanks!!!  ::)

I got widescreen yesterday. Mine didn't have a booklet or anything either and it's fine, but it did have the silver around the edges of the picture on the cover. I don't know why your's doesn't.

I'm surprised by the cover.  I've only seen the one with the cheap silver framing.  Where did you get your copy, gtattoome?

I don't have the silver frame.

Mines have at the top " 3WINNER ACADEMY AWARD" in gold

Center: Brokeback Mountain

Bottom: "WIDESCREEN" in gold

I bought mines at Wal-Mart (Quebec)

The Canadian copies don't have a silver frame. Gtattoome, are you in Canada?

Mine didn't have anything in it.  I got mine from WalMart, and all they had was the full screen version.  I didn't even think about the flier they usually put inside until you mentioned it.   >:(  Donna

I am going to school at the University of Arizona, in Tucson, and I got my copy at Zia Records in Tucson.  www.ziarecords.com I went on Monday night at midnight (this place does that with the weekly new releases - sells at midnight!) and they just had it behind the counter.  I said "One copy of Brokeback Mountain Widescreen Edition please" and this was the one they gave me.  I didn't even really check it until I got in the car, but I really like the cover!  It doesn't say anything, at all, about awards or anything, it's kinda nice like that.  You might be able to order one without the silver framing from Zia online, but I'm not sure how many there were or if you would want to buy another one.  Good luck!  Thanks for the response!   8)

I know, I don't think any came with a booklet....but I wish they had.  My mom had a good idea, put together one of our own!  Put in the best pics (and kissing ones, because they probably would not have included kissing pictures even IF they had a booklet) and enjoy a custom booklet!  :D

I purchased my DVD copy yesterday at Target and it didn't have any booklet either. However, I did get an addictional audio CD of Annie Proulx's short story read by Scott Campbell all together for the price of $16.99. I have the widescreen version.

I thought they would have put a booklet, so I gather they will end up putting out a collector edition for the ennisjack.com fans including the deleted scenes and the out takes specially the 13 out takes it took to get the kissing scenes right!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wouldn't worry. I bought my copy from Wolfe and not a word about Academy Awards on the cover and no little booklet. We will just have to wait for the "Collector's Edition" for all the good stuff we really want. For now I'm just satisfied that I have BBM to watch and cherish anytime I want. I'm easy. LOL
There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Ennis, riding against the wind back to the sheep in the treacherous, drunken darken light, thought he'd never had such a good time, felt he could paw the white out of the moon.
