Movie mania showing this summer

Do you remember the movie from the 1970s called That's Entertainment showing clips from all the great movies. It was a celebration of all things good about the entertainment industry.

Well, the Adult Department of the Waukegan Public Library will be bringing you a "That's Entertainment" summer by showing some of the best movies from the past year—free of charge.

Every other Monday afternoon at 2 p.m., the library will be featuring a top-rated film from the past year for viewing and discussion. The popcorn's on us! Here's the schedule:

June 5, Good Night and Good Luck — Rated PG-13 — With David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson, George Clooney, Jeff Daniels.

June 19, Pride and Prejudice — Rated PG — (my personal favorite from last year) with Keira Knightley, Matthew MacFadyen, Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland.

July 3, An Unfinished Life — Rated PG-13 — with Robert Redford, Jennifer Lopez, Morgan Freeman, Josh Lucas.

July 17, Memoirs of a Geisha — Rated PG-13 — with Ziyi Zhang, Ken Watanabe, Michelle Yeoh, Koji Yakusho.

July 31, Syrianna — Rated R — with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Jeffrey Wright, Chris Cooper.

Aug. 14, The Producers — Rated PG-13 — with Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, Will Ferrell.

Aug. 28, Brokeback Mountain — Rated R — with Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Williams.

This should make for some great entertainment during the dog days of summer. Although I've seen several, I'm trying to rework my schedule so I can get downstairs and see the rest!

P.S. There is also a full line up of movies for children this summer check it out at www.waukeganpl.org/kids /programs/events.htm
- Elizabeth Stearns is public relations/marketing manager at the Waukegan Public Library

Although I consider it a hike, I probably will.  Any opportunity to get new converts to BBM.  :)

Any chance this would be an opportunity for an organized member meet?
