Agree with you Jennis with all your points....absolutely no way would it have been the right thing to do to see Heath and Jake recreate that kiss....it was Ennis and Jack, it was from BBM, and that is where it should stay. Anything outside of that would just be a poor taste parody that would do no favours to the film or to Heath and Jake. Am glad we all see sense on that one!

I think Jake was just having a little fun with Justin when it came to the handshake....you know, like "oh, you're a guy, I cant hug you...better keep my distance, give you a strong manly handshake, look you square in the eye" that kind of thing, and then going completely over the top with the female presenter (cant think of her name), you know, kissing, and hugging and touching.....I didnt see it as anything other than Jake having a little joke, and it was fine by me. As for some people thinking Jake should have kissed Justin? Hello? What's that all about? No need whatsoever. It was fine the way it was, and Jake's speech just confirmed that his heart and soul were right behind the message of Brokeback. Kudos to you Jake.

Wow ... I don't know what to say ... I have always, but never will again, shunned MTV for being a stupid kid's indulgence. Clearly, I was wrong.

So happy for this film and the statement it makes about two people finding each other, being in love, and being afraid of their own feelings because of the world.

Jake's speech was adorable and I loved the way he said "it's a big deal", and clearly he meant it. I'd like to think that it's not only us. I'd like to think that many many other people were open and enlightened enough to vote for a same-sex kiss as the best kiss, to realize that this was indeed the best kiss, the most passionate and the most genuine, regardless of the gender of the people involved. Maybe there is hope for the MTV generation after all...

hm, but mind you, the mtv movie awards have a history of awarding same sex kisses ( american pie, cruel intensions ), whenever they're nominated.

okay, so I just checked to see which mtv I actually have ( it varies from time to time )....and found out I have mtv adria so I just checked out the web site and the movie awards will be broadcast on JUNE 15th!!!! OMFG, I SO can't wait that long, I'm gonna go mad. but oh well, at least it says the whole programm is gonna last 3 hours so I guess that's something.

.But we know how wonderful he is as Ennis.I suspect he stayed away due to pressure for the two to reenact the kiss.I'm only summising of course.

He certainly looks good casually dressed (as opposed to his stylishly formal look). The small shirst accents his arms and torso quite well...

small *spoiler* alert: (if you haven't seen the awards show yet)

I have to say, I thought the video montage of the kiss scenes was very hot. I don't know--I just have this visceral, adrenaline-driven response to any scenes from BBM, especially when they're unexpected or out of context (i.e., I'm not watching them on my TV or computer). I loved seeing the kiss along with the rock music they set it to, and I loved seeing Jake, who looked very hot himself, and hearing his speech, which very kindly acknowledged Heath and the fans and the movie's importance. Mmm! and I loved his second award acceptance, too. Ahhhhh . . . .

I loved both of his speeches so damn hot, so humble too. The clips from the best performance made me tear up- those little bits. They deserved it for best kiss and Jakey deserved it for best performance. The thinking people got to vote this time- the people that matter- fans.
