Another one of my great favorites.  Stunning when you see it enlarged like this.  His face here is just perfect.

I agree -- most definitely without question one of my favorites...

Good evening all :)

I find the rural scene a bit curious in this pic.  He looks too clean to tackle barn work...

And the tower is quite phallic, if you don't mind me saying so...

Nope, don't mind at all.

It looks almost like he's standing against a fake backdrop.  The whole thing kind of a non-event.  Or incongruous.  Or...

Compare:

Matisse and Delacroix would have loved to have painted Jake...

Thanks!  Love it with the comparison Matisse.  Of course, I'd like a better comparison -- Jake on some kind of colorful bedspread, with no top.

(And this is a ways back, but I don't know the other two painters you mentioned, though I could envision it from the particular Jake photo.)

*sigh*

He can be so erotic when he wants to.  Worlds away from the "geeky" persona...

I never really picked up the geeky vibe -- much more familiar with the erotic.  Or just the cool guy.

Is this intellectual Jake?  Gritty Jake?  Or just plain Jake?

Hmmm...  "Gritty" -- I like that description.  How about a gritty intellectual?

I love this one too...

I give up.  He is just hopelessly beautiful.

Those eyes and the lighting make this pix so interesting.  The play of light on the shirt makes it take on the sheen of rich silk...

His richness against the funky-rusty old door.

Goodmorning !

Good morning :) I can't see your pic :( You have put it on one of the image hosting sites, then we can see it :)
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

I love this one -- love this particular hair, and it looks like he has lipstick on.

kathy

That's me.. i love his veins. and everything else too of course <^(
