More artwork:

Wow -- she's good, this Babs.  These are excellent.  She undoubtedly works from "traced" photographs, but still, that's not all that easy -- and she's captured the spirit of him beautifully.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

kathy, you have a most beautiful pic of the two of them here.  Aesthetically, I love the SAG pix, even though I hated how that entire show turned out.   They struck me a fresh and so young in their presentation.  True, it was "problematic" for some, but I just found their being caught unprepared to be quite disarming. And you are SPOT ON about the BBM scene that seems to recall this.  Wonderful post.  Thanks you.

Yes, we've talked about this elsewhere.  I also found them so wonderful that night.  (But then, that bias I always mention -- early days of seeing them live, and so I like imprinted on them -- or is it vice-versa?)  I don't recall, did they mention, while still at the podium, the bizarre-ness of what was going on, what made them crack up?  I know Heath didn't know he was going to be introducing BBM -- and both thought it was dumb that the stars of the movie should be introducing it, with all the purple prose and all.

Given some of DiCaprio's wonderful work, he deserves just as much, if not better.  Plus, I would like to think that we are Gyllenhaalics with a more mature appreciation for beauty and talent.

Yes, and our appreciation for Jake -- at least for me -- has a huge amount to do with BBM, which is what brought us together here in the first place.  While he is an amazing actor with quite a body of work already at his young age, to me, in BBM we got him in a most beautiful and perfect stage of his life and his acting.

This series of photos would have to be one of my favourites  <^( <^( <^(

Me, too. Twisted, thank you for the series of four -- even more beautiful that way.  What a mobile and expressive face he has.
