Suave Jake:

I can't quite figure this look out.  I don't know if I would call it suave.  I would if he were dressed differently.  His head may be suave, but I don't think you can be suave in tennies and baggy street clothes.  Or can you?  If anyone can, he can.  But still, it's unusual.  It looks almost more dangerous than suave to me.  Like, he's surrounded by this gang of girls, and if they don't watch it, he might just have to get nasty...  (Just having fun with it -- I do let my imagination go and imagine scenarios; I have no clue what really might be going on here.)

This makes us at least 3 then.  I find it interesting that we all love this particular pic...

Me 4!

And he seems to be wearing the same gray shirt he wore during the MTV Music Awards.  :)

Maybe...  But it seems to me tht MTV shirt was (1) slightly patterned or with a woven-in check, or a more textured fabric than this one; and (2) was a closer fit.  (Is there nothing too miniscule for our Jake observations?  Seriously, sometimes I think, what freaks fans are...but we have the most respect and affection.  Someone puts themselves in the public eye, we get to look at him...)

Either Heath or Ang Lee.  :)

Oh, okay.  See, you burst my little scenario-creating bubble.  Yes, it would seem to be Ang.  Or else he and Heath were giving each other the eye over Ang's head.

:)  I like him also with more hair of course.  But he is indeed wonderful either way.

Okay, I've figured it out, for me.  See, in this pic and similar ones, his hair is buzz-cut very short, but you can see it -- it's dark and covering his head.  As opposed to when it's all shaved off and there is no dark-hair-frame for his face.  So long or short, either, is okay, as long as it's not shaved off.  I really like him in this pic just fine, because it is the dark-hair-frame for his face.  It's the pics where there looks to be almost no hair, that I can't quite see "my" Jake in.  (Yet I still appreciate his face even then.)  Sorry to go on about it...but I do so love his hair.  As I've said.  ;)

Good morning all :ghug:

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.
