Thanks kathy.  I confess that I associate Jake with music quite a lot, especially with a number of my favorite pieces.

I admit with some embarassment I have this fantasy of imagining Jake in the role of Pelléas in Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande (perhaps my favorite vocal work).  But there is a passage declaimed by Pelléas that I have always associated for some reason or other with Jake and certain Jake pix.  Here is the passage.  I don't feel qualified to translate it.  But I will try to find an online translation and post it later on.

Did you type that Italian off the top of your head?  Goodness, you certainly are a man of many talents.  But not to be embarrassed about picturing Jake in Pelleas role -- we can picture him any darn way we want to, whatever suits our fancy.  I think he wouldn't mind that.  Except child molester and such.

Anyway...I have sorely missed sharing Jake with you, Thomas.  With all of you Jake lovers I love sharing Jake with.  It's been since 12/18 that I've even been to this thread, and now it's about time for me to go to bed so I can't even spend much time here.  But just to say hello to you, and I can't wait to spend time getting caught up.

However, not having indulged in looking at Jake pix for so long, I am stunned anew now at his fascinating beauty.

From the series of SAG red carpet pix.

The persons behind him are passing him by with such jaded looks.  How odd... ;)

I'm afraid I would fall down with the vapors on that red carpet.  But actually, my knees would probably be weak, and I would want to just stare so bad, but would want to quell myself from staring too overtly and following him around.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Why I don't remember that kind of scene in DD?

It's the scene when he comes home one last time and sees his sister asleep after the party.  She of course does not know what happened to Frank.  I thought this weas in the Theatre version, but now am not sure...

WOW!!!

I love the backdrop of deep red bougainvilleas (?)...

A haunting still from the beginning of Donnie Darko:
