Rosie, we all have our favorites, no?  This is one of the few that I love above all other pix:

This is one of the most honestly and nakedly beautiful Jakes.  Transparent, just Jake's innerbeingness expressing for all to see.

There are certain series of pix where jake's eyes are so bloodshot -- either from drink, lack of sleep, tears, I don't know.  But they are quite intense.  It makes the eyes even look more intense, as in the pic below:

Fascinating.  I do wonder why the bloodshot eyes.  And now that you point it out, his eyes here certainly are even more intense, with the pink with the blue...

Yes, christie, something about eyes.  They affect me more so than any other aspect of a face...

Especially, for me, when he's looking directly into the camera.

Hello christie.  It's from the 2004 Independent Spirit Awards. :)

He's a surfer - salt water does that, so...  Everytime I'm at the beach, I'm on Jake watch.

I think the blood-shot eyes are mainly from the hard, gas-permeable contact lenses he wears. Being under bright lights, near salt water, tired, etc. all contribute to red-eye, especially when you wear contacts. Jake should consider lasik eye surgery so he can trash the lenses like I did. Then there'd be nothing to mar the beauty of those sky-blue eyes. (sigh) <^(

His cheecks are blushed.. That's nice, even if it's maybe make up, but still..

Yes, this is quite nice, whether makeup or not.  Same with lips -- a nice pink.

I am always close to tears when I see pix like these, Twisted.  We can't help it.  These Jarhead NYC straddle the summit of beauty.

Do I see contacts in this pic?  I never knew he wore contacts.  But they're certainly not enhanced-color contacts (they look smaller than the iris) -- that blue is real, is it not?

Thank you, Twisted, for all this beauty.

This is quite lovely.  I'm sure you like this lighting, Thomas.  Intriguing -- looks like sun rising on his beauty.

I read somewhere (probably on IHJ) that he does wear contacts.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Twisted, I love this little series you did -- "we love him this, we love him that..."  Yes, we do.  And this last one totally a favorite of mine.  The coloring, the attitude.  But I love them ALL...  Thanks!

(If you even remember doing this :)  It was on 12/21 -- I'm still catching up from the holidays.  Such a chore!  <^(

kathy

Thank you, Kathy. Yes I remember. We love him so much, that we do anything... <^(
