Beautiful though, but as I said 100 times now - everything about BBM is just utterly sad and utterly beautiful.  :(

For me,the pic is not sad nor awkard precisely...Letting aside its beauty,is from the reunion scene,what must fill us with joy...But you're right in that everything about BBM is beautifully sad or sadly beautiful... :c)

We have a plain, but very difficult truth here - if BBM is a happy story, no one would ever noticed it. It is only the immense sadness of it, that made it so magnetically beautiful.

This is so true, IMO.  And from this stems the desire in many of us to try to explore different endings...

Thanks brokebacksoul.   Although it does appear incongruous at first glance, I really think that what Ennis will remember most are those moments when he and Jack shared a mutual "tension"  -- when the stress and tautness of their friendship were most felt.

Beside the beauty/sadness-feeling we develop as viewers  - their feelings for each other are even more intense in that moments which aren't "harmonic" and can be remembered as more intense, in Ennis' case. Your english is very good, brokebacksoul, so don't worry!  :)

The enharmonic moments are captured so well in a number of the previous pix posted on this thread.  Stills from certain scenes are actually more effective in revealing details (such as facial expressions and gestures) that we tend to miss when watching the same scenes in the movie...

E x a c t l y, and that's why my PC will probably collapse soon: too many of this  ^-^pics I keep on it.
Sometimes I wonder what I did to myself by watching BBM six months ago  and where will it lead to  ^*() ;.-)

I think many of us feels exactly how you describe it here, brokebacksoul.

The stills are a marvelous thing.  So many details.  So many wonderful subtleties.  Look at a still from the Dozy Embrace, and one can find so many wonderful things...
