Rather cute this one.

Very cute this one.

You know what I realize, and I'll just say it right here while I'm thinking about it...and I feel the same about Jake -- these two areinfinitely attractive to me in large part because of the roles they played in BBM.  I think if they were just any good-looing and talented actors, I might think they were that, but not have any other special affetion for them.  But because they played Ennis and Jack, because they played men in love with each other, I just think so much more of them.  They are much more appealing because I have seen that side of them.

There is so much truth in what you say here, Kathy.

The forehead is noticably high.  It hints at great intelligence, no?

I of course was going to point that out, too, tpe.  Especially noticeable when hair is buzzed off.  Yes, supposedly the high forehead is a sign of intelligence...but Jake has a very low forehead/hairline, so who knows?  Probably some other subtlety of intelligence.  What does the frontal lobe do anyway?

We should check out face readings on the 2 of them, just for fun.  :)

This is one of the nicest pics I've seen of him. :*(  That short hair is definitely him IMO. <^(

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

The green, the blue, the strawberry blond cast to that side of his hair, and the sweet innocence of his face.

What is it about his face when light divides it this way?

Well, he does have a face that light plays off of nicely.  But I guess that's true for most people -- we're just enamored of him, and there's lots to love about him.

I think so too, but I like it a bit longer (like here) than buzzed all off.  Plus, I love the shape of his moustache, a kind of classic or even vintage shape to it.

I think the skinhead look really suits him. Very nice... ;)

Yes, I also love it!  <^(

I'm sorry, you know me...I just have to say something about the word "skinhead."  Maybe it means absolutely nothing to most of you -- just a descriptive word for buzzed-off hair.  But skinhead was what they called the neo-Nazis, white supremecists, in the 80's or whenever.  Maybe they still do.  It just has such horrible connotations.  I suppose it could be one of those things where we reclaim the word (like blacks get to reclaim the "N" word for themselves and diffuse its meaning, among themselves) or like we women (or men) get to call each other words that previously had very negative associations.  Okay, that's it.  Another word, skinhead, to add to my previous soap box about "wife beater" shirts.
