I think it's just getting long, and he put some product on it to tame it down?  (Giving him the benefit of the doubt here.  Though unwashed hair goes with the old jeans and plaid shirt and tennies. :)

I've seen this -- a couple of them in the series.  And yes, it's so darn cute.  Plus, they're kind of being Ennis and Jack, don't you think?  Heath slouched down hiding behind his hat, Jake being more expansive.
