About the miscarriage scene: "It was terrible shooting that. We'd found out a month earlier that we were having a baby. I don't usually get disturbed by scenes, but that was really tough. In between takes I was running off and calling Michelle, telling her I loved her. I didn't want to jinx my own personal life with this scene."

I know, I was quite horrified myself when I first read it, but it's more or less like taking a blood test so I guess it depends on how much you hate/afraid of needles. I've done dozens of blood tests myself and it's not such a big deal for me, but I wouldn't be able to do that to myself. Anyway, no matter whether you have serious issues with needles or not, nobody likes them, and I doubt many actors would be willing to go that far for the sake of art. It reminded me of how he insisted on doing that dangerous horse-jumping stunt by himself in The Four Feathers. He always went for the extreme.

it reminded me of 4F too. i find it fascinating and horrifying at the same time that he was willing to go to such extremes and toy with his health for art. there were also stories (rumours?) about the christmas scene in BBM when he gets beaten - i heard that he insisted for the guy to hit him for real. i think it wouldn't be so chilling if he was still alive. now it makes me feel like his dedication to his art played an important role in his death :\'(

I'm sorry I upset you koolkat $:-\\$ . Yes, Heath was intense, but he loved his art and it made him feel alive. That's a fact, he said so himself. It wasn't his roles that killed him, it was the pills. His art gave him life and joy.

I've never seen it before, but apparently this pic was taken while he was doing an interview for The Patriot. I also found a youtube clip of the interview (very low quality unfortunately) that I'm gonna post in the Heath videos thread.

It's a difficult movie to watch atalley, but both Heath and Abbie are excellent in it. It's worth it.
