Here's one we've missed -- it's over a month old.  Kevin Smith is the actor/writer/director/and/or/producer of such critically-successful indie films as Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma (among others).  In this blog, he talks about his favorite movies of the year.

This ain’t just the gay cowboy movie: it’s the saddest flick I’ve seen all year. And I love sad flicks - particularly well-made/well-acted ones about people not living their lives the way they really want to. Heath Ledger didn’t give a performance in this flick: his Ennis exists - that’s how genius his non-performance was. Not since Billy Bob Thorton in Raimi’s underrated “A Simple Plan” has an actor been buried so deep in a character that you forget there’s acting going on. Ang Lee, whose film directorial choices are always all over the place in a great way (”Wedding Banquet” to “Sense and Sensibility” to “Hulk” to “Brokeback”) made a great, great film.

The blog also indicates that Smith is an academy member, so we know who he's going to be voting for.

Each time I've seen or read Kevin Smith in an interview, he has always came across as a man who knows his stuff. I am glad he is endorsing our wee movie.

But then again why wouldn't the man who gave us the wonderful Chasing Amy ( another sad gay themed love story) or Dogma..I don't know about you but Matt and Ben are the most homoerotic angels ever. I don't know if it was intentional but they were very devilishly hot (I'll burn in hell for those thoughts).

Even now he is producing another movie 'Small Town Gay Bar' according to IMDB - The story of community in the Deep South that is forced to deal with the struggles of ignorance, hypocrisy and oppression.

If he is only one in Hollywood thinking this then there will more than likely be many more.

I am so excited to see Kevin Smith say that about the film.... I have always loved him...
