My BBM tickets (proof)
« on: Mar 22, 2006, 11:44 AM »
Hey guys, I was thinking of posting this thread not so long ago but I was missing two of my BBM tickets...  I went to see this movie seven times, the first day was December 16th, 2005 (the official movie released date here in DC) and the last was January 10th, 2006.  The only thing that I regret is that I went to the same place and the theaters were very small with the capacity of 140 each room, 5 small theaters in the same building (they were playing 3 movies at the same time), Brokeback Mountain was sold out those days and they were playing it in three rooms.  I kept every single ticket with me and here's the proof:   ;) :D 8)

I have a framed BBM poster and I stuck my tickets stubs in the frame along the edges.

Sorry, no picture.

I've seen the film 10 times so far, and I too have kept all my ticket stubs. I thought it would be a good souvenir of this time. I do sometimes collect/save other stuff like that, but not regularly.

I have been fortunate to see my 10 viewings of BBM in 5 separate theaters,  once each in 3 different theaters, and 3 times in another theater, and 4 times in the other theater.

And as a side note, it never occurred to me before to seriously consider the PROJECTION equipment/ screen/ sound system differences between theaters. I mean I knew in genera theaters had different standards, but that awareness was mostly on the decor and atmosphere, cleanliness, etc. This was the first time that I saw the same movie in several different theaters and so I had the chance to directly compare and realize that some projectionists have a better sense of focus than others! And some theaters adjust their sound to emphasize the ambient, while others nearly turn that off! And this last time I saw the film, the whole image was brighter and lighter, without any burn out.

Sorry to say, I expect this is the last week for BBM in my area, and by Friday it will be gone for good. Boo Hoo!

MY PHILOSOPHY DISCLAIMER: All my comments concern the MOVIE and the content and inferences obtained there. All interpretations, projections, speculations, and opinions about plot and characters are based SOLELY on the content of the movie. They can not be argued or debated by quoting the printed short story. A comparison of the two media is an interesting discussion but must be a separate discussion.

well here in Vancouver it varied between 7.25 early showing and 10.50 late viewing,  average 8.00 time 28 added up equals 184.00 cad which is little to pay for such great entertainment that fills one's life with profound memories

My four are hanging on my cube wall underneath the mountain postcard. I normally don't save tickets stubs but I'm glad I did. A lot of people stop by my cubicle to chat while waiting to see a co-worker nearby and they've noticed them and I get a chance to recommend the movie to those that ask me about it.

That is a great idea. Thanks for recommending the movie to your co-workers.

I save all the movies tickets that I see with Bubu. I have all of them. I will scan and post them.

Tickets for 8 BBM viewings. It all started on December 9. Sadly there will be no more.

For the nine times I went to the theater, I have seven ticket stubs to show for it. The last time I saw BBM, it was in a small theater in Lexington, MA, and there were no tickets, and thus no ticket stubs. I also managed to lose a stub somehow. It must have been fate, though, because I distinctly recall a lot of talking and disturbance during that viewing, so it was one of my least enjoyable viewings. My prized stub is from my first viewing, back in December. I never save ticket stubs, but something possessed me to do so that time, and I am grateful for that.

Koka, thanks for posting the tickets. I was just thinking - how each viewing for you could be heartbreaking and an indulgence of Ennis and Jack's love.

Gosh I so want to go back to the theatres. I think everytime I step into theatres from now on, I will be thinking of BBM, how the movie has changed me and how wonderful people are in this forum.

exactly!!!!

it's funny that I haven't seen any other movie in the theater for a month or so ( and I'm a total movie freak who goes to the movies every week )....I dunno, but everytime I was thinking of going, it hit me: 'it's brokeback or no other movie'. that's how I ended up seeing it 8 times :D
although I did make an exception for Capote ( which btw totally blew me away ).

Me neither. I have had any desire to go back to the theatres to see others. If I do go back, I will be thinking Jack and Ennis on big screen and me shedding tears.

Here are mines :  :)

pierralex, you have your tickets framed. It is awesome. It just makes me realize how ugly the tickets from mine are. They are part of our BBM memories.  :D Thanks for sharing.

I like the orange one  :) But anyway it isn't the ticket that matters, but what you can watch with it  ;)
By the way, the blue one on the bottom right is the one when I saw BBM with Lost_Girl  :D

You are right, pierralex. Speaking of the orange one, it was my worst BBM viewing among the 8. It is all memories just like yours with Lost_Girl. So cool.

(the last one is from a beautiful early Twentyth century-style theatre in Florence where they played "Brokeback Mountain" in original version...)

Koka,

I ordered them through this forum. If you look in the news info box right under your user info at the top of the page there is a link to order them. A member made those beautiful cards and Ethan was kind enough to make them into postcards for us.
