DVD sales and rentals are not included in the numbers, 1.4 million DVDs were sold last April 4th, they will go over 200,000,000$.  Paul Hagis (Crash) predicted they will earn 300,000,000$. Just consider the DVD was released yet only in Americas.

One last time to update the box office. The following has been posted in News Box for some time. It doesn't seem that Boxoffice Mojo is updating BBM boxoffice anymore.  :(

US box office as of 4/16/06 - $83,025,000, oversea - $91,230,695

GO BBM

Looks like domestic will stay the same as BO MOJO states BBM- close date 4/20/06-so the run has ended in North America -Hopefully they will continue with foreign totals until the run has ended overseas-which will happen soon I am sure -Its really kind of sad that the run is over-LONG LIVE BROKEBACK

I hope BBM crosses 100 million overseas but doubt if it will ever get there-seems like the run is also winding down overseas-Seems like Japan really did not take to BBM at all- If it would have, it would have crossed 100 million with ease, That . along with a few countries refusing to show it ,also hurt the foreign box office.   OH well .whatever the final figures are ,it certainly overwhelmed "that other movie" which only brought in 93.6 million worldwide. That movie and the Academy deserve each other- BIG LOSERS!!!

For those of you in Northern California who have not seen the movie or want to see it again, it's playing at the Four Star on Clement St (415)666-3488.  I watched it on DVD about a week ago.  I had no idea it would affect me so profoundly.  After a couple of days I realized I was grieving and eventually found myself here. I'm going to see BBM on the big sceen this week. I will probably cry through the whole thing and I usually don't cry at movies.  I saw a DVD for sale in SF that comes with a Brokeback Mountain souvenir bandana, to use while watching and sobbing I guess!                        As of 4/28, Brokeback Mountain is no longer playing at this theater :'( :'( :'(

Thanks Stephan.  Sorry BBM has left.   :(     It'll be here for at least a little while longer. I'll finally get to see it in a theater this weekend.

Don't forget to give us a review after you watch it in the theater.  Would be interesting to see if the impact was more profound on the big screen than viewing it for the first time on DVD

I'm feeling it has to be, although after watching the DVD I cried so hard and for so long I got a headache. I was a wreck. I watched it again and started crying at those first guitar notes. I nearly cried sitting in the dentist's chair getting my teeth cleaned. I kept wandering back to the the movie. I managed to stop the tears but they could tell something was going on.  I'll be sure to give a review, assuming I'll be able to see through my BBM stupor  :)

I'm feeling it has to be. I'll be sure to give a review.
I was ready to go this weekend. They had said it would be there through May 1. So, I checked again for times and found it was gone  :o  I called the theater and talked to a very nice guy who said "I know, I know." I think he had been fielding a lot of calls. I felt so badly, :'( once again surprised at the depths of emotion BBM can propel me to! I couldn't shake it. Then a friend called whom I hadn't heard from in a long time. He had seen Brokeback at a theater about a month ago. He liked the movie, wasn't moved the way I was but it's now haunting him. We talked about BBM and the spell was broken. He doesn't know it but he's getting a BBM DVD from me. Everybody is  :) So, that's not the review I had planned :(  I now own the DVD and will watch it tonight.  I'll have to wait and see Brokeback in repertory now. Hope it's soon.
