Brokeback Mountain: SOLD OUT!

I have news, I went to Walmart again today after purchasing the DVD there April 5th. I went to get some things and I wanted to check how it was as far as BBM sales in Walmart at my local one.

I went and I couldn't find the DVD anywhere, so I asked someone working to help me find it and they said

"oh, I'm sorry we're sold out of Brokeback Mountain"

She said that they under estimated how many people would buy Brokeback and they sold out of the DVD three days after its release date. They have more of Crash Directors Cut because it won Best Picture, but now they've sent many of those back because no ones buying it. She said to come back Monday because they are getting their THIRD shipment of BBM DVDs in stock on Monday. hahaha! 3 BBM SHIPMENTS!! YAY!!!

(I was the 6th person that day asking for a BBM DVD)

*Crash Directors Cut didnt even have a display, and was marked down due to bad sales*
and they had to send Crash back.. HAHA!!

OMG ALL THIS MADE MY DAY!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Your welcome you guys! I had to share this news, I knew everyone here would love it. I was thrilled hahaha!

The lady thought I'd be upset that they were sold out, but I was so happy and she had this look, like what ???

I can understand the feeling. When I went to the theatre for BBM, I was so happy to see the show was sold out. It happened to me twice.

My local Albertson's supermarket has a small rental section, and everytime I've been there, BBM was always rented out  ;D

I checked out my local Blockbuster; they had more BBM DVDs , at least 30, than any other new film for rent, and all of BBM DVDs were  out!  I couldn't believe it. Does anyone know how the sales of BBM DVD have been going?

I hope it will have the same success in UK and then in other countries when the DVD will be released. I'll check it out frequently this summer in France!

I work across the street from a Target Store.  They have repeatedly sold out of both the widescreen and full screen version, but (when I asked) was told they sell far more of the widescreen version.  Gee, if only "Crash" could move so swiftly...  (Looks like when I treat my cats tonight, I'll have to set aside an extra saucer of milk for me...)    ;)

Hi

Just wanted to report, I went to 3 record stores in London last Saturday  (2 local, medium sized stores and one large store in central London) on Saturday, roughly a week after the DVD release and ALL THREE were sold out of the DVD.  I was surprised (but happy it is so popular!!) The store assistant in one said they had sold so many on just the Saturday 29th May that they had sold out completely by the afternoon.  Wow!  I managed to get hold of a copy today, but even in the HMV Islington, there weren't many copies left at all.
