I don't know if this is posted anywhere but Amazon does have an "hourly" update of its best selling DVDs (including those on order that have not been released yet).

Brokeback Mountain (widescreen ) is NUMBER 1 !!!!!

Brokeback Mountain (fullscreen) is Number 21

To put things in perspective..King Kong is 2, Crash is 7 and Capote is 6

The fullscreen is now #18.

BBM is #4 at B & N and crash is #17 there.

Hopefully there will be some sales number available. I think it will be very impressive. Think of those who didn't want to go to the theatres and see the movie.

I just saw in a Google news search that 1.4 million copies were sold yesterday (4-4-2006) !!!
I realized that I, as a writer, was having the rarest film trip: my story was not mangled but enlarged into huge and gripping imagery that rattled minds and squeezed hearts.....Annie Proulx.

I think that's big news.  King Kong sold 6 million copies in its first week.  If BBM sells half that, executives at Focus & Universal will be very, very happy.

Thanks glacier1.  Not too shabby for a movie about two guys who fall in love.

If you add up all the numbers and divide by 9, NARNIA gets a 3.11 and Broakback gets a 3.22.  Pretty close.

Tell you what...truth is, sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it...

I'm checking 8-10 different sources a couple of times each day.   I'm anxious to know also.
