Hello everyone, we are in the final preparation to move the forum at the scheduled date and time.

The forum here at Xsorbit will be on maintenance mode on December 28 midnight, Eastern Stardard Time for making a backup of the forum.

As soon as we start moving, the forum at the new server will be in maintenance mode and you will not be able to log on.

It is expected to take 4 - 6 hours to complete the move. As soon as the transition is complete, you will see a forum with same structure and new look at www.ennisjack.com

As a friendly reminder - please backup your avatar if you uploaded it to the forum. You will need it to upload again after the forum is moved.

When you log on for the first time after the moving is complete, please check your profile settings and private messages. They should all remain untouched.

A thread will be created and posted for you to report any problem.

Dear Brokies,

We made it. Thank you very much for your patience and help during the upgrade and moving to the new server.

Some of you may need to upload avatars again.

Other than some difference on the appearance, there are a few enhanced features.

1. Front page -the front page will be the first page upon arrival at ennisjack.com
2. Member Map - you can place a pin on the world map.
3. Staff List - list of administrators and moderators
4. Gallery - the gallery is now closed. For now, it will be used for the forum pix.
5. We can also customize the spell check. If you need certain words to be included, please let us know.

We are starting a maintenance routine in order to do a back up of the data hosted on the forum. In order to do it properly, the forum will be "off line" for a short period of time on a selected date, at a selected time.

Here is the first maintenance schedule:

As you probably are aware, the US changed the daylight savings time last weekend.

Our forum time is set to US Eastern Time. Some of you may have some time discrepancy.

To make the adjustment, you can do so by modifying in your profile.

Go to your profile, in the section of modify profile, click look and layout preference

In the field of Time Offset, enter the hour difference.

For example, +4 for those in UK and -3 for those in US west coast.

Click "Change Profile" after you are done.

Lately, the forum has attracted a large number of spammers registering for the sole purpose of spam. We like you to know that the mod team is working hard to remove spam posted in the forum.

There may be time when the mod team is not fast enough to remove them, please be cautious and DO NOT click any links which are suspicious as they may contain viruses.

Please report them to the mod's attention if you see suspicious spams. Thank you for your help and support.

As you probably are aware, the forum performs monthly maintenance and backup. To reduce the size of forum data, we kindly ask you to clean your PM inbox. Please delete the PMs which you don't need to keep before our next scheduled backup on June 19. It will significantly reduce the size.

Unfortunately, there is no way to export all PMs and save them in your computer. One alternative is to enable PM notification. When you receive a PM, you will be sent an email notification which also include the content of the PM.

The forum experienced server outage today around 1:00 PM, EST which lasted about 30 minutes.

I contacted tech support. It is not the problem of this forum but some others hosted in the same server. I hope the problem will not persist.

The forum is scheduled to perform its monthly maintenance and backup on June 19. To help us reduce the size of backup, I'd like to ask you to delete PMs that you don't need to keep before June 19 and do so on the regular basis.

As an alternative to keep all your PMs, you can opt for receiving email notification of new PM by modifying your Personal Message options. In the field of "Notify by email every time you receive a personal message," select "Always". When you receive a new PM, you will be notified by an email. Please note that do not reply to the email notification because the email reply will be sent to the forum, not the intended recipient.

The forum has limited resources and with your help, we can maximize the use of these resources. The least we want to do is to impose a PM limit in the inbox.

Dear Brokies,

The forum performed its monthly backup and maintenance on April 17 at 11 PM Eastern Standard Time.

During maintenance, the forum was slightly re-organized as part of our continuing effort to improve. The significant changes include the deletion of Feature Boards and moving Local Channels to "Member Corner" accessible to members only and adding a new board called Around Brokeback Mountain.
