SCENE CHANGE: DelMar home, Alma walks into the kitchen carrying a bag of groceries and the mail. She sets the groceries down on the counter and looks through the mail. She sees a post card from Jack and then hears Ennis' truck pull up outside. She puts the mail down on the counter hiding the post card as if she had not seen it.

SCENE CHANGE: Newsome Farm Machienery office. Lureen sits at a desk smoking and clicking an adding machine. Jack comes in.

JACK: Honey, you seen my blue parka?

Speaking of Bobby, did you call the school back yet about getting him a tutor?
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Danny and me, Danny and me,  Danny and me and the sea,
Bobbing out of Pleasure Bay, the islands on our lee;
Spectacle, Georges, Gallops, the sun-wash on the brine

Danny and me, seanchai, Danny and me and the sea.

Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.
