Here's another detail, from the scene where Jack enters Aguirre's trailer again and hopes to find Ennis there:
(sorry if it has mentioned before)
Aquirre says: "well look what the wind blew in".
And you can see the little air blewer in the wal of the trailer behind the head of Aguirre turning, and than it stops. Just a nice detail, or is it just an effect that happens every time when somebody opens a door when there is an airblewer?

Yes!  I did notice this also!  It is wonderful of you, Carolien, to have posted this detail.  I thought it added tension to the scene, especially since it can be considered the visual counterpoint to the aural one:  the noise of the wind outside suddenly cut off by the punctuation of the closing/slamming door upon Jack's entry into the trailer.

Yes, I found this to be a a nice touch, especially since he was shown limping away after falling badly during the 3 second rodeo ride.
Old topic here, but it just occured to me in reading this, that Jack's not only limping in this scene after falling, and in the rodeo clown bar scene presumably after his ride, but he's also kinda' limping when he first comes out of the tent after FNIT. Guess maybe he was just kinda' stiff and sore in general from all those years ridin' bulls. ;)

You are right, jackster.  Very perceptive of you.  That's another example of the wonderfully consistent quality of acting we have learned to respect with the actors.

The morning after the FNIT scene and Jack's limping from the tent, the way Ennis looks down at him from his horse, was really a heartbreaking scene.    It's those small touches in the film I love the most.

And of course it's one of several occasions when Jack is shown staring after Ennis - when he rides back up to the sheep, when he leaves after the dozy embrace, when Ennis leaves after the final confrontation. his expression is one of sadness, bewilderment and at the end intensifies, perhaps into anger and resentment. But it is basically similar each time and includes an element of longing and wistfulness.

Yes, we see his mournful gaze as Ennis leaves.  It reminds me also of his gazing at Ennis departing at the end of the the Dozy Embrace.  And of course, we see his final sad look as Ennis leaves him in their last meeting.

How many of these stares do we see? They're repeated a lot (don't forget the pickup truck at end of summer, and the "looks" SNIT, by the stream, etc.). EVERYTIME Jake is able to pull off the same emotionally charged expression. Damn is he good! Someone, somewhere wrote about Jake having "kaleidoscope eyes" and he sure can make them look dreamy when he wants too. I love Heath, but I don't think he could pull off that same look over and over, IMHO. Great casting.

At the reunion, and Ennis grabbed Jack and kissed him so intensely, it was FNIT all over again.   Jack intiates the contact, Ennis takes over from there.  When Ennis introduces Jack to Alma, Jack looks as though he was about to collapse, his head getting lower and lower, Caught off guard by Ennis's kiss, and struggles to regain himself, not very well.  After small talk Ennis knew he had to get Jack out of there,  Jack couldn't take much more,  and neither could he.

How true, from the SS:
"You got a kid?" said Jack. His shaking hand grazed Ennis's hand, electrical current snapped between them. . . .  From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking. . . . . "Please to meet you," said Jack, trembling like a run out horse.

You ever been so excited to be with someone you started shaking? It's only happened to me once, and I'm still with him 30 years later.

You're one of the lucky ones.   After 10 years, me and my lover lost it. I guess that's  why I love this scene so much.   It reminds me of how it used to be.

Here's a couple: How about Jack pulling Ennis's T-shirt so hard in the reunion scene  that I thought it would rip. Talk about intensity.

Has anyone noticed that when Jack gets REALLY frustrated he kicks. He kicks the truck in the beginning scene ,and in the fight scene at the end when he shouts at Ennis about *all we got now is Brokeback Mountain!!!* ? He does a little "kick" there too. He also puts his hands on his hips and pushes his coat/shirt back when he's mad. Ennis chews his nails when he's nervous. He also wears the brim of his hat down as he gets older.

And last , it's amazing to watch the dogs doing their jobs with helping herd the sheep.

The shirt detail is really intense.

Jack kicking...  :)

And we do notice that when Ennis is uncomfortable, he "paws" the ground with his foot -- like a restless horse.
