Of course, aside from BBM, the Jarhead and Zodiac DVD releases MUST be considered seriously.  ;)

Well besides how "physical" Jake's presence in the movie is, what I enjoyed the most is the acting, that was really great.
I think that spending two hours watching Swoof (the characters he plays in the movie) without thinking of Jack Twist for a SINGLE moment, means he's really a very talented actor.
"I loved it. Shocking. Surprising. The guy who financed my movie did that too. He's a very mild mannered chap from Minnesota and we'd just screened the latest cut of my film and he asked if I wanted to see it. I was thinking, 'OK, this really square, straight guy,' and he showed me this movie. It's amazing.

I wholeheartedly agree, jakeofrome.  He is certainly worth following over the years.  I expect big things from him and Ledger!

As the disturbed/disturbing Holden in 'The Good Girl'.   Holden is in the old/classic Jake Gyllenhaal mould: a complex persona in love with a more mature soulmate...

I understand exactly what you mean, Krispera.  Nevertheless, I think she did pretty well in this film, but I did not like the fact that Gyllenhaal emerged from this (as in 'Lovely and Amazing') with a bit of a reputation as a 'boy toy'.  I have always considered Gyllenhaal  a very serious and very driven actor.  BBM has confirmed this belief in every way.

Yeah! It is like the same jacket :)! Oh well.. why I hate Jennifer Anniston, about the things she said about her relationship she had with Brad and SHE KNOW that Brad loves Angelina! It's not really a good thing to do, who will like it? Would you? Anyways it is a little off topic

Thank you Frog123, so many pics, I saved them all  ;D manhh.. he's so cute!

Jake Gyllenhaal, from 'Lovely and Amazing'.

Still in a 'boy toy' role, but beautiful acting, nonetheless. :)

Jake...so pretty to look at. (not my type though).

tpe, yes the jacket is so Jack. (and it is called jacket) :) One of the symptons of PBS. I saw a cowboy hat today in the subway - and guess what came to my mind - BBM.

Hi ethan!  I like to think of myself as a fan of his acting first and foremost, but I would be a fool if I were NOT to admit that I like the way he looks.  ;)

It's nice to follow his career on and off over the years and see him going from strength to strength.  I do wish him the best.

Maybe it's the same jacket... ;)

As for cowboy paraphernalia, I've seen a number of moviegoers in 'Brokeback' attire.  :)

Yes, tpe. You are right. I saw "The Day After Tomorrow" Jake just didn't leave any impression for me and I didn't know who Jake was until BBM.

I think I will pay more attention to his career and like you said, it could be interesting. Zodiac could be his next movie, right?

The young talented BBM cast deserves the best. I have not seen any moviegoer in BBM attire. I won't be surprised if cowboy attire will be the hot Halloween custome.  :D

Hi ethan,

The San Francisco Zodiac killer would be an interesting subject for a film -- a mixture of depravity and intellectual cunning.  That Gyllenhaal plays the author who claims to have unlocked the mystery behind the mind and identity of the killer seems to be consistent with Gyllenhaal's knack of doing true-to-life portrayals -- as in 'October Sky' and 'Jarhead'.   But Zodiac strikes me as coming with an interesting twist.

I really am not concerned if Zodiac will be a box-office hit like BBM.  I am more concerned that it would come out as good cinema.  Having followed Gyllenhaal for a while, I have some intrinsic trust in his choice of roles, and I am somewhat confident that he will give his all to this new movie.  I can only hope that the movie itself will not disappoint.

The last Ledger film I have seen is Casanova.  It was delightful, but did not use Ledger to his full potential.  I trust that we will see him in more and more interesting movies very soon.

I will follow the BBM cast closely in the coming years.  They have won my respect, at the very least.

BBM attire for Holloween?  That would be delicious!
