You're welcome, alicat, and thank you for your comments.

I haven't seen a Jake Gyllenhaal on screen that I didn't like.  ;)

I have always enjoyed Jake's films and his contribution to them.  I was particularly impressed by Donnie Darko and Moonlight Mile.  But I also loved Jarhead.  I will discuss more on the 'Superstar in the Making Thread' as that is more to do with his film roles.  As this is his pictures thread, i will just say, he looks beautiful in all the photos you have posted.

I do love his physicality, especially in Brokeback; it brought me to tears more than once.  He has such a screen presence which makes every single word and every gesture bear down on you (the viewer) like a tonne weight.  I thought this was particularly evident in, not only the intimate scenes with Ennis, but also when he was talking to the rodeo clown. (there are many other scenes I could name but the rodeo clown pick-up scene was especially poignant.)

So very true.  If he acted purely with nothing but his eyes, he would still get the point across...

Alicat, I still love the scene where they come down of the mountain and he is asking (pleading) if Ennis is gonna be back the next year.  God, his facial expressions say everything that his mouth can't. I love him most at this point. And he looks gorgeous to boot.

Tom and tpe,

I know I am going slightly OT here but my favourite Jake moment in the film is when Ennis comes back from tending the sheep after their first sex, and Ennis says 'one shot thing' etc etc'.  The way Jake bows his head and utters 'It ain't nobodys business but ours' is pure poetry.  Not only the words he utters but how those words convey his feelings of upset and desperation (maybe?) and the beautiful look of longing on his face. It is perfect and one of the most achingly lovely moments in the whole film.

And I know Froggy will kick my ar** as I am way off topic now.  lol

tombul and alicat, I agree with both of you regarding the said scenes.  The way he droops his head in the scene tombul described kills me all the time -- an attempt to be stoic, but not entirely successful.  As if he understood -- but he did not, really.  And in the scene alicat describes, the profile is almost immobile and aloof -- but you can hear from his voice when he says the phrase that he is almost choked with emotion.

Let's add a pic to keep Froggy happy.  ;)

Thank you again tpe (and enjoy the film again lol)

Those last pictures are superb.  For some reason, I especially love the fourth one (of Jake in the bright pink shirt, altho he does look very young there.) I also like the Jarhead pictures of him wearing not very much.  Is Jake a natural exhibitionist?  I heard he likes having sex outdoors so maybe he likes taking his clothes off too?  Oh joy, lol.
