The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

The eyes are great and sad.  Color or in B & W, I am sure they will not fail to move.

I suspect he broods a lot in real life.  I sense he is rather intense -- all hidden behind the suave exterior.

LMAO, him and his tongue. He looks like a wife beater in this picture :8

FOS:  I'm not speaking as a moderator or anything, but I can't let this pass.  I would ask you to consider the actual words "wife beater" before saying so casually and intending it to be funny.  I know some people call this kind of undershirt a "wife beater," but that's about as funny to me as would be a "gay basher" shirt or a "child abuser" shirt.  I just think we need to not make light of something like this, and it's always good to be aware of the words we say.

A similar but different thing is like this:  the term "gang banger" used to mean a gang rape.  Nothing acceptable about that.  Then later it started to be used just to mean a gang member.  So we can accept the change in meaning and not be attached to the old meaning.  Same with how the only guys (except in the military) who used to shave their heads were skinheads, white supremecists; later it became just something to do or not do, with no negative connotation to it.  So we don't need to attach the old meaning to it.  However, "wife beater" means exactly that, and if you never said "wife beater" again, it would help make the world a better place.

I don't mean to give a lecture...but this is an important one.  I tell this to anyone I hear say it...to think about what they're saying.  I mean, unless they are a wife beater, then that's a whole other story, and I'll go get my posse of witches and rescue his wife...

And back to BBM, Jake looks totally hot in this kind of undershirt.

Tom, I'm following you. :)

I never especially loved pearl gray or any other gray -- not enough to even bother commenting on it -- until seeing Jake in it...  I think I'm getting a bit of an education through this man about what is the best a suit can look!

kathy

Thanks kathy.  I'm still thinking: is there any color that he could wear and not make it look good?

Puce?  Burnt sienna?  Pea soup green?  Mustard yellow?  Just being silly.  I bet he could wear any color.  I love the classy way he dresses, and I love when he dresses grungy or scruffy, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in some wild and crazy clothes, like Heath does -- you know, those crazy paisley pants, or the pink feather boa?  Really, I mean just like more color and patterns.
