Good night, Thomas. :^^)
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Incredibly great Jake pix today -- thank you everyone!

I wonder if he gets tired of being so damn gorgeous and sexy?

kathy

Yes, thank to everyone for the wonderful pix.

I suspect that he doesn't fully know what he's got.  He seems to be quite a private individual for an actor -- unlike a lot of his peers who revel in the limelight with all their attention-catching antics...

But he does so many photoshoots for magazines and such, modeling clothes, etc.  So that's definitely part of his gig.  Well, he's got it, so use it.

No scolding here.  But sexy is as sexy does, as they say.  I didn't see DAT, but surely he cannot ever have had as sexy a part as that of Jack Twist with Ennis Del Mar.

One can be sexy by oneself, but sexy is better with two...

kathy

In TDAT, Sam is unable to express openly his love for his beloved -- certainly a contrast to the more assertive Jack Twist.  Both are sweet.  :)

Okay, then I look forward to watching this, and see this kind of expression from him.

However, I really am not a gyllenhaalic, I'm an Ennis-and-Jack-aholic, so I am not clamboring (sp?) to see every Jake movie.  I don't deny though that he's been an extraordinary actor from a young age....with even more to come, no doubt about it.

Love this one, although he would appear too boyish for some.  Thanks again, greenfrog.  :)

You talkin' to me?

kathy

Hello kathy.  Actually, no.  There are others who have expressed a much stronger preference for the more mature Jake Gyllenhaal.  I put you somewhere closer to middle-of-the-road, though leaning towards the more mature Jake.  :)

Actually I more than lean toward the mature -- I have a quite definite preference for the more mature.  But I like seeing where that mature came from...

Yes, I love this one.  :)

He's my man, right here.  Well, other places, too, but this is like the real Jake who isn't "on" for some other reason than just being himself.

There is so much exquisite symmetry in the triangles of white shirt and coat.  And just above this perfect symmetry, his face jars with its slightly tilted/asymmetric beauty.

Wonderful pic.

You are such an artist, tpe.  Not only Mr. Poetry Man, but the visual-aesthetic perception of perfect design...

I agree.  We ought to applaud all the photographers who have definitely been part of the equation of expressing beautiful Jake.

Once again, a small pic, but captures all the beauty.  I think this is the Jake look I love most... Well, does he have a look I don't love?

Okay, interesting, tpe -- I like knowing someone's favorite Jake look.  This does seem to be a perfectly expressive essence of him, at least right now, until tomorrow :)

kathy, here's another one that straddles the boy-man divide.

Thanks, Twisted.  :)

You're exactly right -- I was going to comment on that, also.

You know what will be interesting:  in say five years, we'll have another cusp or divide, between young-mature man, to mature man in his prime.  Not to mention when we start talking about 40, 50, etc.  I hope I'm around for a while...

ok guys and gals..I have just gone through some 70 pages of this thread, from nr 1 and removed pap shots.. I figure it is only fair to remove the earlier ones before we made our rule of no pap shots.

If I have missed  some or removed wrong ones I appologize. I have not removed pix taken on moviesets, and public events like the basebal game with Austin, but others, like him shopping ,working out or beeing with family.

But on my way I foun dthis and felt it deserved reposting...hope you are all ok with this :) I will go on other threads and have a look to, but not tonight

Have a wonderful pap free Jakezone :)

Thank you!  Another labor of love.  Sometimes I can't tell if it's a pap photo.  He may be out in public but seeming to agree to have picture taken.  When they seem "posed" then it seems okay.  But whatever -- I'm sure you know what you look for...and okay, I sure am absolutely fine with pap free Jakezone.

I was seeig a few things in Enquirer or some such but I wouldn't post them here.  Even though one was using stock photos of him and his mother, separately, so they weren't pap photos, but a "pap" narrative, or gossip, about things overheard between him and his Mom at dinner.
