His eyes are slightly red.  Is he tired.  The smile beguiles us into thinking: NO.

I still have to catch up with the rest on the Jake threads... Tomorrrow...

Good night.  :)

Good night... and Jake-dreams!  ::) :^^)

That I will, Mary.  That I will!  :)

;D Tomorrow... I wanna know if you dreamed of him!  ;D

Btw, now it's time for me... to read mangas!  <^(  :h)

Maggie is having a great run.  I am impressed with the reviews of Sherrybaby.  She is a match for her brother -- this does not surprise me.

They certainly are a pair to be reckoned with.  I am really glad for her, too.  I loved seeing a pic of her in Sherrybaby, blonde.

I know she's probably got heels on, but she's frequently taller than Jake in pictures, and he's 6 foot, right?  So she must be tall for a woman, too.

An interesting pic.  Can't put my finger on it.  At least not yet...  ;)

he looks good but i must say i don't like the button up sweater under the jacket.

I like it, the sweater.  But to me it looks like he forgot his eye makeup.  Not that he wears it, but his eyes (not the irises, but the rest) usually are so striking, and here he looks pale.

Actually I more than lean toward the mature -- I have a quite definite preference for the more mature.  But I like seeing where that mature came from...

kathy

At least you have an empirical bent to all this.  :)

Right.  Empirical evidence based upon the level of the hots in the subject, me.

You know what will be interesting:  in say five years, we'll have another cusp or divide, between young-mature man, to mature man in his prime.  Not to mention when we start talking about 40, 50, etc.  I hope I'm around for a while...

kathy

This is certainly true. For some actors, it comes a bit earlier.  Some seem to reach a divide in their mid 30s.  But I agree that the 40s is a magic one.  The lines that develop in the face becomes an aspect of beauty in and of itself, no?

Indeed -- love the character that develops in the face.  Both Jake and Heath will be interesting.

Well, this is true for men anyway.  Unfortunately, in "Hollywood," well I don't even need to say how it is for women...

Talk about a work of art.  I love this one.  The dark/light values, the brushstrokes of each hair of head, brows, face...

On Oprah  :)

I love these Oprah screen caps. I know the questions were predictable, but that interview is my favourite of all the Brokeback interviews I've seen 'cos both Heath and Jake are so relaxed and funny. This bit cracked me up, especially when Heath asked Jake if he drew stubble on his hand when he was practising kissing :8
He will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten

Christopher Nolan, accepting the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe on Heath's behalf.

He was, as an actor and a professional and a human being, one of a kind

Charles Roven, accepting Heath's BAFTA.

This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here — his peers within an industry he so loved.

Kim Ledger, accepting Heath's Oscar.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.
