The distressed, scruffy look.  :)

Which I love, too.  Isn't it funny -- this, compared to that suit we were talking about?  He does both, and many more looks, all with perfection.  He really would have a career as a model if he hadn't been into acting.  Although I guess he wouldn't have gotten as much work -- he's only being photographed so much because of his acting...

kathy

It is.  When I look at the range of the pix on this thread, it makes me smile.  He has a myriad looks and a myriad faces.

Has ever tried modeling?

Anyway, did y'all miss me last night?  I took one night off from Jake Pix and now I have like 12 pages to go through!  And now it's too late...so I'll be behind again tomorrow night.  Oh, the chore...of going through 12 or more pages of Jake Pix!

kathy

Assumed you took a break from all the pix thread, particularly THIS monster.  But honsestly, I can't get away from it.  I tried to exit a bit earlier the past few days but always ended up leaving this thread at the same time...  I know, I'm hopeless.  :)

He tried not to look it here, but there is no mistaking the polish and the poise...

Yes, both kids did get such polish and poise, but they came by it honestly, so to speak.  The family are not socialites or anything like that.  Just intelligent artists.

kathy

Had his parents had their way, he would have finished at Columbia.  Not that he really needed it, but I thought it would have been nice .  But who could blame him?  His parents were enlightened enough to have allowed him what he wanted: to pursue his acting career full time.  Perhaps Jake is not the academic type.  Still, I do think he is blessed with natural intelligence -- thanks to his parents, no doubt.

Again, from a classic series that I love, in color or in B&W. He subtly breaks the formal elements in the composition.

Fascinating, that.  The human body against all that formal architectural detail.  And his human body.  And his body in jeans.

kathy

Yes, and he is not exactly aligned vertically.  His head is, but the lower portion is not.  The arms also add a bit of asymmetry... :)

If I told you once, I told you a hundred times, the boy Jake does nothing for me.

But now...it's because of you, Tom, that I'm like this!  I used to just pass by the "boy" pictures, unless wanting to make a point of comparison.  But now, because of your appreciation, I am looking...  Thanks a lot.  I'm losing my beauty sleep on this thread.

kathy

Like you, I prefer the more mature look.  Jake's Hal is my favorite, actually.  But there is a different attraction involved with the younger Jake.  The look is not flippant or overtly artificial -- even in a lot of the posed ones.  That's what I like best in the more boyish pix.   They are artful and yet naturally engaging and beautiful.

You are not hopeless, you're just in love with him, like me.. :)

This is the last one for now.

I shall leave you with (literally) a wet dream . . .

Thank you, greenfrog.  A wonderful torture it is going through the Jake pix.  :)

Good morning you all :)

The Swoff look really accentuates his features.  Very striking...

I love these both. I don't recall if a allready post these yesterday, but like Thomas said, repeating is a joy  ;)

This is perhaps one example where I think the flesh tome on his face in the colored pic makes the whole more beautiful.  Not that the B & W pic is something I would pass...  Never!  :)

Not at all an arificial look.  And yet it is ARTLESS, not artful: there is so much charm and presence.  :)

He is pale in some of the pix from this series.  But note here.  His complexion is almost like honey, as in the previous pic.
