The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Tom, that was a great collection!  O0

 ...

I arrived home late last night so I haven't see Tom's pix yet.  I shall not miss a chance to see them later today after work...

There is a vague effect of motion here, no?

What is that?  Like we're looking through scratched glass or something.

kahy

Yes, like scratched glass.  Is this deliberate?

quis multa gracilis te puer in rosa perfusus liquidis urget odoribus grato, Pyrrha, sub antro?

Whatever this says, the words are almost as sensual as he is.

kathy

Milton's translation: What slender Youth bedew'd with liquid odours Courts thee on Roses in some pleasant Cave, Pyrrha...  :)

I'm srue you meant to, but then got distracted by his torso, or maybe by his hand there...

kathy

He has such beautiful hands.  But any part of him is enough to distract Erda's daughters from their spinning. :)

Well, the whole top-of-underwear showing is just an affectation of current fashion (though maybe it was so yesterday already).  He certainly doesn't need to, but I don't mind that he does.

kathy

Yes, I certainly do not mind.  :)

What is it about him and a backdrop of reds and blues?

Red, blue and yellow in this one.  Primary colors.  And his own coloring a feast of subtlety with that primary background.

kathy

Yes, I do think it is his complexion -- it shimmers against a backdrop of primary colours.  I also think his complexion is what makes him dazzling in a white shirt and black suit.

Oh, you're so right!  I was all hung up on the beautiful blue, but the lighting on his face is just gorgeous!

kathy

I do love the beautiful blue.  And his face has the mature look that is quite beautiful in the soft light...

The hair and the eyes and all... <^( <^(
Yep.  And green tie and eyes, too.  Perfect.

I really love the pix from this series...

Me, too, very much.  This one h as lovely pink and blue.

kathy

The pink of his skin is like balas rubies.  The blue is finer than lapis lazuli.  It is as blue as the robe of the Virgin.  The pink is the color and fragrance of brabant roses...

Love this one in particular, not sure why -- it's the look through the camera to the viewer we've talked about...

kathy

I love it also because it shows him wearing his multiple rings.  :)

Tom, were you at Iheartjake today by chance?  I was, though I'd never been there before...and there were some great pics, but I couldn't take the time to sae and post here.  Most we've seen, but some not.  (And I didn't like the paparazzi ones, truly, they bother me.)

Real quick, kind of OT:  a friend lost ALL her computer stuff, serious crash.  One thing devastated her very much was losing hundreds of Jake pix.  Kathy to the rescue!  I made a CD for her of my file of Jake pix.  She is so relieved :)

kathy

Yes, IHJ has the most beautiful Jake pix.  But I try to post pictures from other sources.  Twisted has posted some very beautiful pix from IHJ. :)
