Yes. I'm not one who is too enamored of his Jarhead look. But I do try to appreciate it. I think, though, that I am just a bit too enamored of his great hair. I don't love this shaved-head look on men at all, just generally speaking. Though I acknowledge their right to like it and do it. It's probably my generation -- HAIR!
But anyway, it's still his same features...but I think he loses some sensuality. But then, he doesn't have to be "sensual" at all times -- he can be so many things, and this is just one expression.

I know what you mean, kathy, about hair and the suggestion of sensuality. The association is certainly ancient, although one should note that the lack of hair also has had its admirers in past ages.

Jake without the hair is essential Jake.
Very true. And it's an interesting subject, hair. The asethetics of it, besides the history of its associations in cultures. (And again, maybe I have a prejudice, because of a couple decades ago, men who shaved their heads, skinheads, were the neo-nazis, white supremecists, etc. Aside from military, I mean -- and being the silly hippie that I was, I had no great appreciation for military men, either.) However, I've grown away from those early prejudices. It gets easier and easier, if we are aging right, to see past all that stuff to the essential...
