White is perfect colour for him. IMO. Well black is too... and brown.. and red.. and and and...  <^(

But there is just something delicious about him in a white shirt...  I can't put my finger on it.  Constasts with his complexion?

Could it be that, that the white brings out he's eyes even more and make them look even more brighter than they allready are?
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

That is certainly a possibility, although I feel that the white dazzles the viewer and may dim the effect of those sapphires.  But looking at this particular pic, I don't think the white competes.  The plainness makes his eyes stand out even more...

I think I have a similar-looking Bill Blass coat, only longer.  And he looks much much better in it, of course!

Is this in a church?  What's with the candle?  Put it IN FRONT of the jake god...

I love the pix from these series, even if (or is it because?) he is relatively buffed up.  But the skin is absolutely golden -- bronze with gold highlights...

And all other ornaments are rendered superfluous by the beauty of his face.

We fathom you not -we love you -there is perfection in you also, | You furnish your parts toward eternity, | Great or small, you furnish your parts toward the soul.

Pic after wonderful pic.  Perfection outdoing perfection.  With every look, in every glance, we see the hand of God.

Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?) | With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim; | He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change

Soul, self; come, poor Jackself, I do advise | You, jaded, let be; call off thoughts awhile | Elsewhere; leave comfort root-room; let joy size | At God knows when to God knows what; whose smile's | not wrung, see you; unforeseen times rather - as skies | Betweenpie mountains - lights a lovely mile.

How could I love you more?  | I would give up | Even that beauty I have loved too well  | That I might love you better.

I think: If the cold sombre gods  | Were hot with love as I am | Could they not endow you with a star | And fix bright youth for ever in your limbs?
