A wonderful gem.  I love the way he looks so nervous in this shoot.

Notice the same necklace ;)

Very gorgeous this one.. <^(

The necklace wasn't exactly where my eye went first...

kathy

On his hand, perhaps?  :)

How'd you guess?

Thanks Hanna.  These new pix you posted are making me dizzy.  :)

Yes, Hanna -- thank you very much for these from this AFTA pix.

I think it's funny that Jake is the more "conservative" looking one of these two.  If he'd decided to punk it up just a little, like RDJr, they'd be a pair.  Nice pair anyway -- I can't wait to see Zodiac!

Jake is a nice, tall man, but look how much bigger Heath is, or at least in this picture (maybe it's the angle) -- starting with taller at the shoulder and broader, too.  Thicker neck, fuller face.  Makes Jake look darn near petite!

kathy

They looked roughly the same size in BBM, but again, it might be shoes, camera angles, etc.  To be sure, Jake appears a bit more delicate...

Yes -- they were nicely similar in BBM.  It's probably just this photo.  Anyway, it's not exactly that Jake looks petite, but rather that Heath looks more beefy than usual.

I was thinking the same thing. Quite different than how they looked in BBM. Jack always looked to be the larger of the two. Heath must have lost a lot of weight for the role of Ennis.

carbyville , so you did get the same impression in BBM -- that they looked roughly the same size.  Your comment that Heath intentionally lost some weight for the role of Ennis seems probable...

Carbyville -- funny that you perceived Jack as the larger of the two men in BBM.  I didn't see that.  I believe, though it may not be a true memory, that first I saw them as exactly equal, then with other viewings, I saw Ennis as the taller.  I thought he was taller in the dozy embrace, and during the reunion hug and kissing.  I think.  And then later I learned Heath is 6'2" and Jake is 6', and then started noticing that in their publicity pix, etc.

But that's just height.  As to size, or weight, now that you say it, c'ville, maybe Heath did lose weight for BBM.  He was quite slight.  Both of them were (except for Jack's fabulous thighs of steel).  And after BBM, I've perceived Heath as more full bodied than when playing Ennis.

Is it the lighting, or does he color his hair?  Sometimes it looks brown, sometimes black.

I love the look where his hair appears darker.

I love that, too...but I really love the Jake-as-earth-tones look, you know.

First thing that comes to mind is the dozy embrace. It almost seems like Ennis had to stand on his toes to prop his head on Jack's shoulder.

This is funny, different perceptions.  I said just the opposite as you said above.  But now that you say that, I can see that in some shots it does almost look like he has to stretch up a little.  But from other angles it looks to me like Ennis is the taller one.  Weird.

The Jarhead look can be so beautiful, especially when the eyes look back as in this pic.

Yes, this is really beautiful, no doubt about it.  I don't always think so in the Jarhead look, but I certainly do here.

Heh.. I remember seeing this in theaters. Before I realized his name WAS NOT "Donnie Darko" (took me years to call him Jake ;)) "Hey let's go see that disaster movie with Donnie Darko!"

Hello.  :)

Hello, Thomas. :)

Nice one.. :d) <^(

I'm drooling awful lot today.. I went through over 300 Jake pix, which are in my computer, and i'm feeling dizzy..

How can that be ^*() ;)

Okay, you made me want to go count.  Now from the beginning I just had a Heath-Jake pix folder, as opposed to BBM/Ennis/Jack pix.  And I've never separated out Jake from Heath photos.  There are 1259 pix in that folder!  Some are duplicates, but not all that many.  How in the world did that happen?   :s)

Yes, I can see it.  It looks like he's riding the Chicago "L".  :)

Good :)

Small beauty..

Ah, the "small beauty" is indeed!  That's really nice, his running his hand through his hair.  Makes me realize he doesn't do that much, doesn't fidget like Heath does (bless his heart).

I love this one a lot.  And it kind of says Jack to me, too.

It's funny:  Jake has such a distinct look.  Jack has such a distinct look.  They are the same person.  Yet Jake does NOT "look like Jack" very often in pix.  Curious.

These new pix are indeed quite lovely.

Sorry, I'm going to be picky -- I don't love how his jacket keeps gaping open in a lot of these pix.  Not a great cut?  Usually his clothes love him so much, they fit to a T (whatever that means).

Sigh -- I'm not through at all, but must call it a night, I think...

And wonderful, more serious looks, too.  :)

Is this a dumb question?  What was Lance doing there?  I presume Jake and Robert were there because of Zodiac?
