Heh.. I remember seeing this in theaters. Before I realized his name WAS NOT "Donnie Darko" (took me years to call him Jake ;)) "Hey let's go see that disaster movie with Donnie Darko!"

I think it's funny that Jake is the more "conservative" looking one of these two.  If he'd decided to punk it up just a little, like RDJr, they'd be a pair.  Nice pair anyway -- I can't wait to see Zodiac!

kathy

I am sure he and RDJ will be great.  :)

I love that, too...but I really love the Jake-as-earth-tones look, you know.

kathy

For some reason, I love his look in very dark clothes also.  In formal attire, he is apt to be in black and white -- rather than in green or brown.  He is conservative in this regard, but he is beautiful being conservative.

The Jarhead look can be so beautiful, especially when the eyes look back as in this pic.

Yes, this is really beautiful, no doubt about it.  I don't always think so in the Jarhead look, but I certainly do here.

kathy

They eyes have a great deal to do with it...

Okay, you made me want to go count.  Now from the beginning I just had a Heath-Jake pix folder, as opposed to BBM/Ennis/Jack pix.  And I've never separated out Jake from Heath photos.  There are 1259 pix in that folder!  Some are duplicates, but not all that many.  How in the world did that happen?   :s)

kathy

Becasue they are irresistible.  :)

Ah, the "small beauty" is indeed!  That's really nice, his running his hand through his hair.  Makes me realize he doesn't do that much, doesn't fidget like Heath does (bless his heart).

kathy

We love both their mannerisms, no?

They are irresistable allright, but Jake is even more, sorry Heath fans ;) And the 300 pix what i went through, it wasn't all ;D

I have over 1000 BBM pics and over 3000 caps ;D And i will mention the rest of Jake moviecaps too. I've lost count already ;D

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

I love this one a lot.  And it kind of says Jack to me, too.

It's funny:  Jake has such a distinct look.  Jack has such a distinct look.  They are the same person.  Yet Jake does NOT "look like Jack" very often in pix.  Curious.

kathy

I know what you mean.  I think the same can be said for Holden Worther in The Good Girl:

Sorry, I'm going to be picky -- I don't love how his jacket keeps gaping open in a lot of these pix.  Not a great cut?  Usually his clothes love him so much, they fit to a T (whatever that means).

Sigh -- I'm not through at all, but must call it a night, I think...

kathy

I didn't notice that...  I was concentrating too much on his face, I suppose...  ;)

Is this a dumb question?  What was Lance doing there?  I presume Jake and Robert were there because of Zodiac?

kathy

Probably as a special guest of Jake, no?

This is not a paparazzi pic, it's from the New York Times Magazine Photoshoot. :)
