How Much will BBM Bring in the Box Office? -- Poll --

Brokeback Mountain has broken many records in the box office. It has the highest average per screen and is currently on its upstoppable path. The total number of theatres showing BBM in the US has passed 1000. The Oscar is still more than a month away.

The forum is growing and the people are talking about this movie. Eventually, how much do you think BBM will bring? Cast your vote now. I am confident that BBM will pass 100 M.

If it is nominated for the Oscars, it will probably exceed 100 M.  I am still not completely satisfied, nonetheless, with current box office results in the USA as a whole.   But I should be wiser here: box office performance is not always correlated with good taste. :)

I am sure there is a lot of conscious resistance to this film within the US.

I agree. Usually I will be the one who is the first to say "forget about the box office" and I don't really care. There is a part of me wanting more people to see this movie. I guess I am more optimistic in people's taste. We should be all proud with our participation in  this movie. It is going to make history - at least my personal history.  :)

Maybe if there were car chases, explosions, more gore and a 50-foot rabid sheep stamping thru Signal, it would make more money!  :D

Seriously, $42million and counting is great box office for what many have called a "small movie" - but we know how special it is, and, apparently, millions of others are discovering that too!

I predict it will top $100million in worldwide release.

I'm conservative... trying not to have too big expectations.  125 millions.

Man!

They put 14 millions... They got so far 42 millions.  Well I would be pleased that any buck I invested would bring me that kind of result.

Oscars are still ahead... DVD is not released yet!

At least, they are  making money out of it!

Ain't so bad for a "little picture".

This kind of performance, I hope, takes major studios to shame!

I figure it will make 75 million in North America and another 75 million worldwide for a 150,000,000 total-Figure it will cross the 50 mil mark on Tuesday the day Oscars noms  are announced and it will have the legs to make another 25 mil after that before its run is completed. Figure overseas market wil be about 15 mil by Tuesday and with all the Oscar noms it will get plus further expansion overseas plus hopefully at least Best Pic and Director wins -overseas box office would swell another 60 mil before the run ends
