No, but only because I've added to my debt burden so that hubs and I can attend a very glitzy local Oscar party.  Otherwise, I'd be here, biting my nails.

Does anyone know the sequence of the presentations during Oscar night? That is, the first award is for what, the second , and so on. I believe the award for best film (which will be given to BBM of course!) is the last one? It would be nice to know when we can expect to be excited.

Thanks

Usually the first awards presented are the actor/actress in a supporting role which means Jake or Michelle will be the first ones to win (I hope).

Oh my god everybody!  Get on the oscars website right now and get voting for who to win next Sunday.  I've just done it, and it turns out Heath is in the lead to win best actor - way ahead of PSH!!!!!  I'm SO happy!  Jake is in the lead to win best supporting actor too.

If both Heath and Jake win, I think I will hyperventilate!   :P :P

I can just see them now, accepting their awards:

Jake: screams "Jack Nasty Loves you", makes funny jokes, everyone laughs, everyone loves him.  Heath runs up on stage and hugs him.....

Heath:  "I love my 2 girls, I love Ang, I love Jake", messes nervously with hair, cries, Jake runs on stage and hugs him......

I think I'm hyperventilating already!

Froggy, it was a link you put on your own message!  To the oscars.  Once on the website, there's a link to win a trip to the 2007 oscars, and you have to submit your votes for who you want to win each category.  Then when you've done that, it calculates each category and - viola - there it is in (not quite) black and white.  Heath in lead to win best actor, Jake in lead to win best supporting actor.  BBM to win best film and director, but we knew that already.

When I saw the results I was like this:  :o, then  :P and then  ;D ;D - but mostly  :P

It's ok froggy, I understand - none of us think straight when it comes to our beautiful brokeback boys (straight being the operative word!  ha ha).

I hope everyone on this forum submits their votes, cos it could mean that Heath and Jake go off the radar with all the votes!  It might cause a national grid failure, though (or something, not sure cos I'm not good when it comes to things technical/electrical) - but it might also cause a national talking point, due to so many votes being submitted for Heath and Jake, which might then grab the attention of national and international tv, which might then get back to those people in oscar-land who make the final decisions on who gets what award, and Heath and Jake might end up on that stage, accepting awards for the best film ever made.

Oh, I love being dramatic!

VOTE NOW EVERYBODY!!!!!

You're right Ethan, the Supporting Actor/Actress awards start the event.  It may be an omen of how things will be going for the rest of the evening.  At the end is Best Actor/Actress, Best Director and the last award is Best Picture.  In between is Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Score and Best Cinematography.

I still have a hard time with the Best Actress category.  No one from BBM there.  Felicity Huffman did an amazing job in "Transamerica" and I enjoyed Keira Knightley in P&P and of course Judi Dench in "Mrs Henderson Presents".  Not partial to Reese Witherspoons or Charlize Theron'd performances.

WHY DON'T you all just update in englad or europe to that sky that is showing oscars and then cancel it next day so you only have to pay for a day of use??  or something?  is that possible--???? ???  or how about satellite tv-do you have that there?  like direct tv or dish network or something?  where you can get american channels beamed?  also how about satellite radio like xm or sirius?  also check out www.abc.com they may have streaming video or maybe cnn has streaming video in their new streaming video - thingy i forget name of it - something like pinpoint or something....or call abc tv in new york and ask them how to see broadcast in europe?  call OSCAR'S DIRECT OR E MAIL THEM.  I KNOW THIS IS TELECAST AROUND THE WORLD.  I AM SURE OF THAT.  oh, and check your local papers and such and call local tv- i bet people with satellite or whatever are having free oscar watching- like bars and hotels and maybe even a cinema- live.  check it out.

In Spain, and the rest of Europe too, canal + will broadcast the event live, and that's where I'm going to hook. The only problem is the time, it will be 3 a.m. but I'm taking the following day off so...who cares!! I don't want to miss it by no means this year.

I was just looking at the list of Presenters for Oscar night.  Does it strike anyone else as odd that no one from BBM is listed as a presenter?

The List from oscar.com:

Jessica Alba
Jennifer Aniston
Chris "Ludacris" Bridges (Crash & Hustle and Flow)
Sandra Bullock (Crash)
George Clooney (Good Night and Good Luck & Syriana)
Clint Eastwood
Will Ferrell
Jamie Foxx
Morgan Freeman
Tom Hanks
Terrence Howard (Crash & Hustle and Flow)
Nicole Kidman
Keanu Reeves
Queen Latifah
Will Smith
Meryl Streep
Hilary Swank
Charlize Theron (North Country)
Uma Thurman
Lily Tomlin
Naomi Watts (King Kong)
Luke Wilson
Owen Wilson
Reese Witherspoon (Walk the LIne)
_____________________________

Three actors from "Crash" are presenters:  Sandra Bullock, Ludacris and Terence Howard.  Maybe Heath, Jake and Michelle didn't want to present (nominee jitters), but there's always Anne Hathaway and Randy Quaid who were not nominated.

Just thought their choice of presenters was interesting.

I'm getting jazzed!  Whatever happens, we get to see our boys, along with Michelle and Anne,  also Ang and Diana and Larry.  and the film will be honored and I do think win.  and all the glitz and glamour.

I have my menu picked out and I am getting one of the Alsace wines Cham recommended.
