**YOUR IDEAS** to show our support to BBM
« on: Mar 17, 2006, 08:00 PM »
Currently we have two ongoing campaigns to support BBM.

Thank you postcards
Riverton postcard
Go see it again
Sending Birthday wishes to BBM cast

Soon BBM will be no longer showing in theatres  :'( and DVD is coming out. ennisjack.com would like to hear your ideas of showing our support to BBM other than buying the DVD and seeing more BBM in theatres.

Thank you for your great support and help.

In hollywood of course, where else would you want to piss off the world or maybe in UTAH or Texas, or even Riverton,  but right in front of the Kodak theater would suit me fine ;D ;D ;D ;D

My shrine to BBM is here in my room, framed autographed picture over my computer, the cd, hardcover, softcover, story to screenplay book on my stand next to my computer. Soon to add the dvd, and bandana, plus two magazine covers, two other posters goings up, and soon, Ads for the movie from O-time.

The best way i can honor the film to to live my life with full intention and never hide my truth from the world. This is what BBM taught me...the tragedy of living in denial.
I also try to keep the spirit of the movie alive but talking with people about it as much as I can...in "Non-pushy" ways...just bringing it into the conversation. Their spirits live in this way.

If there were bumpersitckers that said "I LOVE BBM"  I would put one on every vehicle in this family!
He pressed his face into the fabric and breathed in slowly through his mouth and nose, hoping for the faintest smoke and mountain sage and salty sweet stink of Jack but there was not real scent, only the memory of it, the imagined power of Brokeback Mountain of which nothing was left but what he held in his hands....

Let us keep the all the BBM Internet discussion groups going for as long as we can.  To make this film live forever: that is the greatest tribute we can give.

One way to show support is to buy BBM DVDs.  Not one but ten.  Buy them for christmas presents.  Buy them for any reason.  I would like to see the DVD sales become the highest in history.  I'd love to see it sold out in all the stores on the first day of release with hoards of people clambering for more.

I'd also like to see it sold out every day for weeks at Video stores to the point where Blockbuster and other video stores are forced to set up a whole wall of Brokeback Mountain videos/dvd's to keep up with demand.

My little bit of support is to see BBM in the theater until it stops playing, maybe even after the DVD comes out, if its still here then.I have been going every weekend.   ;D
This is the forest primeval.  The murmuring pines and the hemlocks, bearded with moss, and in garments green, indistinct in the twilight...but where are the hearts that beneath it leaped...

How about one of those ribbon things (that I'm always griping about, mind you), but in this case I'd put it on my car...  Some great color, cowboy hat perched on top...

Here is a topic about the ribbon. Maybe we should bring it to live.

Maybe we can peruse the "Quotes" topic to find THE ultimate BBM quote to go on the ribbons...

I like the "if you can't fix it, you've gotta stand it"  It could mean so many different things.

And if you want a quote that could be a secret code to other BBM fanatics, how about "No More Beans"?  :-)
"No More Beans"

"Beans 'bout all we got left"

"We got to do somethin' 'bout this food situation. Maybe I'll shoot one of the sheep"

"We're supposed to guard the sheep, not eat 'em"

Yes!  I agree with this very much.  I know I don't post as much as I want to, but without going into TMI, I've been sick, am trying to get my house ready to sell, and am very behind on a project at work--geez that was TMI.   ;D  There are a lot of creative minds here, I feel, and we can keep it going.

I adore the BBM ribbons--like the second set best.  Maybe we could have some made, charge for them, and donate part of the proceeds to the Matthew Shepard fund in Ennis and Jack's names as suggested on another site.  Just an idea.  If we want to have something in writing put on them, friends, we better have a poll to vote on it.  LOL.

Don't know how this is going to pan out, or what use it is, but I'm part-way through a book on BBM, looking at its genesis, development, the major images and their relation to American culture ( and others) , the effects and after-effects of the movie and the media/spontaneous campaigns that are continuing to keep the message of the film alive.
Like all ideas, it's got out of hand and is far too long, but it's a labour of love. When it's finished I need a way to make it available to anyone who's interested - don't see it getting published in the UK, where I live!
More news later.
