(You know, I just now realized that makes no sense. He is going to his fathers for the winter...OR...he might come back. Come back to Brokeback for the winter if he doesn't go to his fathers? What am I missing here?)

I didn't think he said "or". I thought the lines were

Might go up to my daddy's place, give him a hand through the winter. (PAUSE) I might be back...if the army don't get me.

Figured he was just letting Ennis know what he was going to be doing through the winter too, just in case Ennis decided he couldn't go through with the wedding and wanted to come looking for Jack.

Anyway....on with the recital.....

ENNIS: Well, I guess I'll see you around then
