Look at this, is this not perfect ? Jack is leaning on Ennis's arm, and Ennis is holding Jack on his waste..

Oh god.. <^(
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Thank you all for the beautiful Jake and Jack pictures- the perfect pick me up to an otherwise bad day.  <^(

Whenever I see photos from this group I always think there is something feral looking about Jake in them. In one (the head and shoulders shot wearing the same top) he positively looks a bit of a werewolf. I still like him    :P :P :P :P

Wow, I see that now.  (Areyou referring to the one looking through bars?)  He certainly does look in that pic like he could be a great vampire...

Beautiful pic....

Here's another one from the start of the movie:

Gorgeous of course.  I love his use of hiding behind his hat in this scene -- is there a thread about that?  Of course Ennis does it, too.  Here, this seems this pic might be when he sees Ennis lowering his head and hiding his face with his hat, so Jack looks away and lowers his head, too.  It is so sexy, and so full of meaning, when we can't see his face but just know what he must be feeling nonetheless..  Jack also lowers his had quite meaningfully when Ennis says he probably won't be back when they're parting by Jack's truck.  I don't know precisely when in that scene without going to look; but throughout the film, it's a genius touch, the hats...

My god -- not just this pic, but all of them -- does he know what he does to us??!!  He has to know.  He is a classic sex god when he wants to be, but yet he's so real, too.  Not like a typical "sex goddess," who is done up and airbrushed and being overly sexual and showing too much -- don't they know they don't have to do that to be sexy?  Men don't have to be half-naked to be sexy!  Not that it would hurt, a little half-nakedness...

I like when he shows his underwear.  I have always thought that was totally dumb when guys did that (or women), but I've now changed my mind about it.  ::)

Yes, but -- and maybe I'm partial -- I think Jake as Jack is absolute perfection.  He "inhabited" that character same as Heath did.  He was the absolute perfect choice.

This pic -- exquisite!

Wonderful observations.  And to me, one of the most beautiful "hiding under his hat" scene is the introduction to Alma.  The way his head bows and tries to look up  in spite of the anticipation and the emotion -- simply beautiful.

This scene is so generously played.  Thanks Twisted.  This is a wonderful scene.
