I love this one especially -- it's so clear he really wants to see Ennis again next summer -- please I wish you would say you want to see me, please.  That small lift of the eyebrows, a silent entreaty...  Breaks my heart every time.

OMG, these pix just kill me! On the one hand, he looks so hot, it's probably my favourite look of his in BBM, with the stubble and the bruise, but on the other hand, the pain in his eyes, especially the second from last one, makes me feel like crying :\'( Even if I'd never seen the film, and didn't know what the scene was about, I think it would still break my heart looking at these pix :\'( :\'(

You are so right, Crimson.  How fascinating -- that if we'd not seen the movie but knew this is a parting scene (or I guess even if we didn't know that), we could still see the pain in the situation.  And poor Ennis, standing there just not knowing what the f**k to do, no way does he know what to do about this situation.

I also commented on that next-to-last picture, as you did.  Isn't it like some kind of amazing mysterious awesome thing, that human eyes are so expressive?  That we can see the pain in his eyes, especially in that next-to-last pic.  But not in the last one -- he's given up?

Yes, he's not handsome - he's beautiful - one of God's more successful efforts, in fact an Alpha Plus.

Oh you are so right -- there is an elevated category for him.  He's raised the bar of perfection.  And it's not exactly just Alpha Male Plus, because he's an evolved creature beyond how we've been defining male and female for too long.  He might not be who you want protecting your land and people, that kind of Alpha Male, but you certainly want to pass those genes on!

And on that subject, evolution, "gay" people of whatever persuasion have always redefined the parameters and should have honored places in the societies -- which they do or have, in some few societies, native peoples, animals even.  We need to pass on our genes, though, and that doesn't happen too much.  So we have to pass ourselves on in other ways...and wait a minute, OT--OT, sorry, where am I?  (Thinking about this fine specimen Jake made me start babbling off...)

Anyway, yeah, yeah, this is Jake's Pix page, but I think Heath is a whole different kind of beautiful, beautiful man.  He might not turn your head at first glance (though he does mine) but there's so much more to him...

Kathy,
I think going OT sometimes is not only understandable but expected. How can staring at pics of Jake Not get your mind wandering?!

Thanks friends for another great day at the forum.  Good night!

A few more days, and there is the Montreal get-together.  Can't wait.  :)

The essential Jake Gyllenhaal: no pretty boy required; only pure expressive power.

Thank you Aimi ^f^ Here are few more our gorgeous Jack <^(

Especially this one -- it is so seductive!  Sure not holding back letting Ennis see how he feels.  And I just LOVE the part here where Jack is looking at him not saying anything, and Ennis is looking at him...then says "Whut?"  Boy if that isn't a moment of sparks flying...and not from the fire!

I love these so much.  I love Jack trying to "gentle" Ennis, who is out of control after all.  The way he says "Ennis...Ennis..."  Oh god.

I begin to get dizzy with all this beauty.  In every single one, the face shines with a strange light.  Beauty, sadness, tenderness: all are mingled with so much delicacy, so much subtlety, so much heart.

OT, but you started it!

Oh I'm so jealous!  I can't wait to hear everything about the Montreal get-together.  Plus I know Jenna (of "Somebody New") is going to a BBM gathering in San Antonio in August.

Well, we're having a mini-BBM-gathering in Baltimore next week at our Star Trek/Sci-Fi convention where I meet with all the K/S friends who are now BBM friends.

Sorry, OOT too.  :)

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Not possible...

Probably no more of a tender and magical moment in movie history.

Ahdunno - the moment just before they kiss for the first time in SNIT has to be up there.....
He will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten

Christopher Nolan, accepting the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe on Heath's behalf.

He was, as an actor and a professional and a human being, one of a kind

Charles Roven, accepting Heath's BAFTA.

This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here — his peers within an industry he so loved.

Kim Ledger, accepting Heath's Oscar.

Very true, hard to choose.
What makes the SNIT scene so sweet is the fact that Ennis makes the concious choice to be in that moment with Jack.  I think fireworks just took over at the reunion scene!  In a way though, I wonder...maybe Ennis did plan that explosive kiss!

That's close, tpe, but is there not one where you actually see both of them properly, just before they kiss? I'll need to go and have a look....

Ok, how about these two for "most romantic moment"? And yes, I know this thread is about Jake, but if we're talking romantic BBM moments then Heath has to be there too!

To all forumers:

The moderators have requested that in both the Heath and Jake pix threads, we should all refrain from quoting long sequences of BBM screencaps in their entirity.  I am quite guilty of this myself!  I plan to post a similar guideline in the Heath Pix thread.  You can, of course, quote a few pix out of a sequence of screencaps if you want to reference them for special comments.

Again, thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for Jake and Heath.  :)

It's a tough call between the reunion kiss and SNIT. But if I had to choose I'd choose the above for more tender.
