I seldom see pix of him baring his armpits.  He is a bit too boyish for the pose.  The mature Jake will do greater wonders with this pose...

I agree, as you know I would.  So, can we find one of those?  The mature Jake with armpits bared?

kathy

Don't know.  Perhaps there is one in the many shirtless scenes in Jarhead.  But didn't he shave his armpit hairs for this movie?  Not sure...  I may very well be relying on faulty memory...

Oh, I'll have to watch and see.  He shaved his chest, didn't he, for Jarhead?  But I would think shaving under arms, for men, is like too uncool of a thing to do for a military man.  But maybe not, these days, when male athletes shave all their hair for better performance.  (You will thank me that I won't get on the issue of women shaving...)

Apparently, one of them (I don't remember which, maybe Heath) didn't realise that he was presenting that night, so he didn't know what to say.

He also only found this out the moment before they went on stage, so they had some trouble keeping a straight face.

When he smiles like this, I feel a bit insecure.  It is such a knowing smile  -- it feels that you are party to some dreamed-of mischief...

That's a darling feeling you've got there, Tom!

kathy

Thanks kathy.  He does seem to bridge the gap between him and the spectator in most of his pix.  :)

Oh, fascinating idea.  So that's what's going on!  What a wonderful quality, then, that he can give of himself in a certain way to connect like that with the viewer...

He is absolutely looking at me ::) ;) ;D

A more mature, more confident look.  I love it.

Yes, yes, yes.  That's what I'm talking about!  This is my man.

Speaking of my man, my other man is Heath...and every evening he gets short shrift because I'm here with Jake until almost time to go to bed.  (And I LOVE all the new pics of Heath!!)

This pic from the series work very well indeed.  The look is both insolent and inviting.  Wonderfully confusing...

Confusing indeed. I couldn't focus on anything when i look at this pic..

He confuses on many levels.  Is he man-boy or a boy-man?  Is he insolent or inviting?  Is is extroverted or introverted?  Is he fun-loving or soulful?  Formal or informal? Intelligent or heart-centric?  The million and one shades of Jake Gyllenhaal...

Boy, you said it!

Which one is better?

The B/W is better, I think.  The color one, unfortunately, has some odd color values -- like one side of his face in orange light, the other in purple or something.

Love Jake here.  I had other comments about this picture, but decided to take the higher ground and say nothing.  Except that I just said that.

There is a difference when he wears no tie...

I like better without a tie, except for formal.  With the tie, as gorgeous of a dresser as he is, it's just too businessman or conservative for me, the old hippie.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I wanna hug him sooooooooo much!!!!  <^( <^( <^(

I already commented on this pic, but have to say more.  One thing is that this is a look I really have always like a whole lot -- a white t-shirt under a dark sports jacket.  Yum.  But more -- it's this look on his face.  He looks like he's in love or something.

He also only found this out the moment before they went on stage, so they had some trouble keeping a straight face.

It was a little more than that.  Didn't he say he'd had something to drink or whatever, not knowing they would be the ones to introduce BBM...and that their doing so was like too weird -- someone else should do it, not the people in the movie.  So as he was reading and having to say all this high-falutin' stuff about a groundbreaking love story or some such, is when he lost it.  I think it was darling -- they both knew it was like a weird surreal scene for them.

It was at the SAG Awards

Love the hair, love him in yellow, love the bare chest under pretty yellow shirt, love the hands, love the beauty mark, and clarity of his face.  But handsome?  He's too young for me to call him handsome.  But I know you're a young woman, right, Greenfrog?  So you can call him handsome, but not me.  For me, see the B/W one in the sweater -- that's what I like.
