I love the rings in his little finger. :)
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

I love this. Even his face doesn't show entirely.

Thanks Greenfrog- That's one of my all time faves of him. God I love those hammock pics.  <^(

I love the hammock pics too.

You kind of want to jump in and join him.  ^-^

:)

There is a sensuousness in his look in this series that is both enticing and forbidding...

Oh why i don't live in U.S :\'( I might have i small change to see Jake somewhere  ;D

He's so handsome in this one :-*

Agreed, handsome.  I like his hair this length.  I love his hair, but when it's all wild and spiky it's kind of a distraction.  When it's less wild, the focus comes back to his face.

Well, I live not too far from LA, but you'd have to live there, and hang out quite a lot in certain places, who knows where, to get a chance to see him.  Not as easy as you might think...but yes, a chance.  Would be good if you were in some position to be invited to events.  It would be good to be in hair or makeup or clothes, something like that -- get nice and close.  Or work for a magazine, or be a photographer.

kathy

I would wager that he would be seen in a Mario Batali restaurant in LA (has it opened or is it still on paper?)  But I am sure they are jealous of their privacy.  Who wouldn't?

As for NYC, there is so much "privacy" in the midst of the City.  A person can be virtually invisible (except to the determined paparazzo).

And New Yorkers can be so beautifully blasé.  :)

I love this picture tpe  <^(

He's looking very handsome.

I also love the oculus in the background.  Something about it makes the picture look right...

Now I'm intrigued. Why do you say that tpe? Who is Mario Batali? :s)

There's our Handsome Jake again :-*

God, this man in proper suits...  Can you imagine going into your banker's office and finding someone like him??

Though I love him in mod-funk jeans and jackets and all that, too.

I like your theory.  Would you consider him more mature here in this pic or do you think his look straddlles the divide?

This is just over the divide, I would say.  Baby-mature.

kathy

I agree.

OT...but to continue...I see that that is a loaded issue.  For many who feel totally ripped off by representation of gays in our culture.  But when you consider the whole idea of "acting," it kind of confuses things.  Does it really matter if gays or straights played these roles?  Actually, it does -- if out gays played these roles, the "public" would have probably been much more freaked out in the sex scenes, like, oh no, they really do that.  But they feel safe because they think Heath and Jake don't really do that.

kathy

Very interesting, kathy.  The "public" at large somehow needs to be reassured that it's just play-acting -- there is more than a grain of truth to this...

Oh, I'll have to watch and see.  He shaved his chest, didn't he, for Jarhead?  But I would think shaving under arms, for men, is like too uncool of a thing to do for a military man.  But maybe not, these days, when male athletes shave all their hair for better performance.  (You will thank me that I won't get on the issue of women shaving...)

Apparently, one of them (I don't remember which, maybe Heath) didn't realise that he was presenting that night, so he didn't know what to say.

He also only found this out the moment before they went on stage, so they had some trouble keeping a straight face.

Yes, I think this is the reason.  But people are so prepared to see the worst -- even if not true...

Oh, fascinating idea.  So that's what's going on!  What a wonderful quality, then, that he can give of himself in a certain way to connect like that with the viewer...

kathy

Something about the way he uses his eyse, perhaps?

He looks like a pixie in that picture.  <^(

It's because of the look of mischief in those eyes.  :)

Yes, yes, yes.  That's what I'm talking about!  This is my man.

Speaking of my man, my other man is Heath...and every evening he gets short shrift because I'm here with Jake until almost time to go to bed.  (And I LOVE all the new pics of Heath!!)

kathy

I wish I could see them from my office, though.  :(

Love Jake here.  I had other comments about this picture, but decided to take the higher ground and say nothing.  Except that I just said that.

Yes, I love his look in this pic very much.

There is a difference when he wears no tie...

I like better without a tie, except for formal.  With the tie, as gorgeous of a dresser as he is, it's just too businessman or conservative for me, the old hippie.

kathy

I love the "stud" series of pix (like the ones I posted) because his formal attire is showing signs of disarray.  He is almost perfection in that moment when the formal look is at the point of unraveling and allows his body to "breathe".  :)

OMG, I love this look!

His frame is beautifully articulated by the white shirt and sweater...

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I wanna hug him sooooooooo much!!!!  <^( <^( <^(

I already commented on this pic, but have to say more.  One thing is that this is a look I really have always like a whole lot -- a white t-shirt under a dark sports jacket.  Yum.  But more -- it's this look on his face.  He looks like he's in love or something.

kathy

The white shirt hugs him like Semele clinging to Zeus.  Sorry, hyperbole.  But you know what I mean.  ;)

In white shirts/t-shirts and dark jackets -- he is so beautiful.
