I'm a bit confused. When is this first scene? On one of their later outings, or on their way up to Brokeback in the beginning? They didn't ever go back to Brokeback, right? But I don't remember a later trip where they took mules. Or what?

I suggest something similar to AudreyTwist's picture rposted here by kathy:

Ennis's hands can be drawn out more readily -- especially for a fight. It is a posture seemily oriented to react readily to the outside.

Jack's hands need to be pulled out of the pockets. Much more is hidden. It suggest for me a posture imbued with the "inside" of things -- perhaps the realm of feeling?

Hello kathy. The first scene is in the summer of 63 when Ennis has just gotten the supplies and is heading back to camp. He is about to meet the bear.

I know, but the second picture showed Jack and Ennis riding on the same trail. So that was the first summer also? It looked like from one of their later trips.
