Hmmmm.... I think I WILL order the UK version when it comes out, since I have a multistandard/region DVD player and also the PAL version has better resolution

I just ordered it from a UK site

The shipping from UK is only GBP1.60. WIll be released on the 24th

ethan, make sure to also get a "converting" DVD player - i.e. converts PAL to NTSC unless you have a monitor/TV that takes both PAL & NTSC signals. My projector takes both, so it preserves the better quality of PAL signals

Also, bear in mind that the PAL version will be slightly shorter. But, don't worry, it hasn't been cut, it's just been speeded up slightly to convert 24fps to 25fps.

I really like the Canadian Cover..

it'd only be better if it said

"BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR" .. actually it says it as a quote on the back of the Canadian DVD.

My copy does NOT have the silver around it or say anything about the academy on the front - it's a full picture of the poster with "Four-Star Focus Features Collection" banner across the top and a little "Widescreen" down in the right-hand corner. This is interesting. Are there different covers available in the US? Miine has the silver around it.

There are different covers in the USA, I guess; mine has the same front as the Lost_Girl's but a different back, with 4 little one inch square photos, 2 of the boys with their wives and one each of Ennis and Jack. I guess it's a film about two friends and their families!

Nah, but yeah I get your point and I don't understand why they are promoting the movie like that... They should put a picture of Jake & Heath together as lovers and not as lovingly brothers!

The UK Cover is the Best so far!! The US one sucks ditch water. I've been experimenting on creating one to cover the US covers in my two versions.

Here is a bigger piccie of U.K. one.I have seen a few different ones in the U.S. depending on where you bought it. So it might also vary from store to store or suppliers? Have to wait and see.

yeah your all right. the US version does look like it would go in the Bargain bin at walmart heh. But last week, i was at the wherehouse music store and i saw a different cover! its covers the entire front with no silver edges around it. I don't know if the back was different though. i'll check next time. Here it is (for those who don't know already)

I'm actually ok with the silver-bordered U.S. cover.
On March 21, chameau said "Anything showing pics of our boys will make it for me." I agree. Plus, I honestly don't even see the border and the text - my eyes go straight to the boys and that's all I see.
Riobbm23, stephen, bram and some felt it looked too platonic I guess. For me, it's actually a little reminiscent of the embrace in the flashback scene so it feels romantic to me when I look at it.
