Dear lance, as Raskal Fats concerned, one of my favorites is :

Rascal Flatts - What Hurts The Most
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let 'em out
I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm ok
But that's not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin' to do

It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I'm doin' It
It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin' with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away show the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most was being
so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

Not seeing that loving you
That's what I was trying to do .

Ravenus made a beautiful and haunting video !!!
It's paired with a great song and the scenes from BBM, absolutely, painfully amazing... You can see Heath's devotion to the role that is Ennis.. heartbreaking..

It's a wonderful reminder of what's really important in life. ^f^

Grateful Traveler

Remember me, with a smile not sorrow.
My time here on earth was brief,
but oh how much I lived.
I filled each day with purpose
and tried my best to give
a little piece of who I am
to everyone I knew.
And I found in doing so
the love inside me grew.
But a body has its limits and now I need to rest.
My spirit lives forever though and I have been truly blessed.
I left my mark upon the world and in my little girl.
And what more could I ask of life
than to let me be true to myself,
and when it was my time to go
be proud of who I was?
So bid me not to stay, now that my work here is done.
Let me fly free and in remembering me
Share in my journey as I shared in yours.
I am a grateful traveler.
I was only passing through.
But if you keep me in your heart,
I will always live in you.

I have been a member here for a couple of months, but only read the posts, never posted anything myself. But now I have to! This poem describes him so perfectly. It's so beautiful, through and through! I'm so grateful I have read it! And I have a confession to make: I am a moderator at HeathHeathens.net, and without asking (since it's on a public thread) I posted your poem there and linked it here. I would like to share the replies it got:

"I am almost beyond words. That was so beautiful it takes my breath a way. What a tremendous tribute-and what makes it oh so more lovely is that each word is true and Heath was a remarkable soul."

"That was maybe one of the most beautiful poems that I have ever read...it was perfect...the way that she described Heath as a traveller, and only here for a short while...
Thank you so much for finding it and sharing.."

"That was truly beautiful. It gave me goosebumps. I don't know what else to say.... :\'("

"this person deserves a statue
lost for words"  :)

I'm so grateful for everything that can help me keep my nose above the water at the moment - and your poem took me to the surface and helped me draw the first breath of fresh air in days! Thank you so much!
With love to you all!//Nina

I'm so sorry if this is a little off-topic but I'm so frustrated right now, you have no idea.

I am a Michael Johns fan in the TV singing show, "American Idol". He was sweet, friendly guy in his late 20s. The 1st day he came on the Auditions I was amazed by him. The strange thing about him was, he shared some similarities with Heath. He was from Australia, he was 28 when he came onto the American Idol stage and...he was from Perth. It was so weird. But he made me smile. Tonight, he got voted off American Idol and the WHOLE audience was literally in awwe of how he could be voted off. I know I might sound crazy and you can stop me but it seemed like, Michael was helping me get over the death of Heath SO much. I had so high hopes for him, he had an amazing voice and even the judges said he did pretty good. He was never in the bottem 3 before and then out of the blue, he was kicked off. I can't even begin to tell you all how I feel but I feel like all of the feelings I had when Heath passed away are coming back and I can't deal with it. I know how stupid this sounds and I have no idea why I'm writing this on the "In Loving Memory thread" for Heath when I'm talking about Michael too but I don't know. People say that he'll have a much more successful career in the end but I just...ugg

C'mere Lis.  :ghug:  :ghug:

You know, I don't suppose anything is off topic that is about Heath and how you remember him, get over the loss of him, or just plain love him. I'm sorry this person got bumped (I don't watch the show, but I've heard about him). Maybe he'll show up again in an even more significant way for you. Either way, lots of love and  :ghug: as you work through your grief.

Midsummernina, I don't quite know what to say. I'm happy to have my poems shared, as that's what they're for to me in the first place. I'm glad that people enjoyed it and a little overwhelmed by the response. Thank you for sharing that here. Welcome to posting. We're happy to have you with us. :ghug:

I'm thankfully starting to relaxed, still in shocked of all of this but what can we do?
Your words are very true and they are what I was feeling, Michael helped me be happy after Heath's death
Heath will always be a part of me, no matter what...Michael just helped me get there to acceptance of his death
Thank you again  :^^)

Thanks, FlwrChild. I tried to stay positive nowadays, or I'd end up weeping on the bus, waiting at the bus stop. So I play this song and others that keep me above water, as midsummernina said.

I am so glad she posted your poem to other forums. I thought it was an inspired work when I first read it, with tears in my eyes. I cannot read it without feeling Heath's image and voice. Thank you for making me proud of being a member here.  :ghug: :^^) :c)

Thanks for the lyrics and the link to the video by Ravenus.

My reaction to it is interesting. I came across the song What Hurst The Most three times.

The first time while I was browsing what other songs by Rascal Flatts on youtube, and a not too inspiring video got me clicking onto the next song. I wasn't impressed by the title anyway. Hurting too much already nowadays...

The second time was after your post, reading the lyrics, and found another link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FRI7AangPKY
This one is better than the first video, and sad, but I didn't cry, even watching it all the way through.

Then I got brave, and thought what the heck, before I post the link in response, I'd better check out the link you posted, just in case they point to the same video. I doubted since the one I saw was about a straight couple, and it was a student video. Well, to make a long story short, watching Ravenus putting Rascal Flatt's song with the most powerful scenes, the sobbing scenes all rolled into one... I cried my eyes out. Now I am ready to watch Four Feathers tonight, because I am a mess anyway. I was going to watch it, so I guess this was meant to be.  :(

There ain't no reins on this one.

:ghug: <^( Thanks, FlwrChild. You are an angel. The song is beautiful, and I found one by one of my favorite singers, Ronan Keating. The song reminds me so much of Heath as William Thatcher in A Knight's Tale, dancing after he won the tournament, with the love of his life. It also reminds of me Heath, who'd never sit it out, but would always choose to dance, given the chance.

Thanks, so much.

Lyrics by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

Wow, when you really sit down and listen, it could remind you so much of Heath, especially when I read the line above  :-\\
I absoultly LOVE this song!
About 4 years ago, I went into a lyrical dance class and for the 1st time did a dance for the resitatal so this songs means so much to me so thank you LC for putting it on and FC for reminding us of this beautiful song  ^f^
This is my favorite part that especially makes me think of Heath  :\'(  :\'(

The song is called My Wish, by Rascal Flatts. Here are the words, which are also in the video.

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you want to go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
and if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' 'til you find the window,
if it's cold outside,
show the world the warmth of your smile,
but more than anything, more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and always give more then you take.

But more than anything, Yeah, and more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
this is my wish
i hope you know somebody loves you
may all your dreams stay big
(Repeat)
(Chorus)

 :ghug: to everyone here  :c)

Your words are always beautiful, lancecowboy...  And this song -- very special.  I wish this for me, and I wish this for you, too!  For everyone.

Daylight seems to be fading slowly and the breeze in the evening shudders in the treetops. The faint light of the remains of the day filtered through the heavy clouds, announce with certainty the continuation of the passing time. The trembling leaves of the old oak pace this moment, where every second, my soul seemed to wander and dissolve with fragrances that night seemed so close already released under the onslaught of wind.
My hair sweep my face at the rate of gusts of wind, the coolness of the night, which is so close makes me think it will soon rain. In the distance the roar of the storm until nascent rebound to me, and here and there I see the vegetation bending under the hot and humid gusts of wind in the evening. A sense of loneliness seizes me, and despite the turmoil of the night falls, I see you always come to me, as the first day I knew we would love. Now, the power of the rumbles thunder rocked my whole body, but my mind and the torment of this nature looks good to those of my soul. Despite the turmoil last night, I remember that somewhere, up there behind the clouds there is the star that shines always, the light that guides me through the darkness.
I turn of the light the gentle glow of the lantern suspended, and, with the unrest still tumultuous tonight, I will calm my mind until you rolling through my dreams.
At the discretion of the exhilaration of wind and rain sweeps in this small house in the fragrance of yesteryear, I always remember your image before the night closes too quickly my eyelids.
A look bright, a smile and evocative sounds mingle in a mad pursuit of memories on which my mind can finally fall asleep to relieve my pain.

As the moon lingers a moment over the bitterroots, before its descent into the invisible, my mind is filled with song. I find I am humming softly, not to the music, but something else, some place else, a place remembered; a field of grass where no one seemed to have been except a deer, and the memory is strengthened by the feeling of you, dancing in my awkward arms.............

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singin' in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Amber eye

Sudden silence
The world stops turning for a moment
Starts again but jerkily
Our screams are so loud that
nobody can hear them:
The amber eye is closed
And looks now upon worlds
we are not part of

Flashes words words flashes
Neverending
And none of them connected
to the open heart
the lithe mind
the sudden laugh
or the shy glances

Mighty waves
crashes in
Sharp cliffs underneath
Must keep afloat
All of us that remain

A pause a stillness
With gentler waves in sunset
where many feet
are soothed
after weeks of endless pacing
Tears and laughter
fuses with water
creating underwater rainbows
of  joy and pain

Flashes words words flashes
Still
Neverending
And none of them connected
to the hole in the ozone
the limber one left behind
Nor to the one less shadow
that is cast on the ground
Or to the mittens
that no longer has hands in them

And in the eye of the hurricane
A square of concrete
Stepped on
By baby’s feet
Stepped on once
And now stepped on forever
With him
And without him

Peace, endless peace
in your body of nothing
in your body of everything

Thanks for this. I think, if I have the song playing, and watch the tributes, I just might be dream of Ennis and Heath. I can only hope.

It's beautiful.  :t)

Very beautiful Nina  ^f^

(and nice to see you're not a stranger  ;))

Thank you Anaconda! And no, trying not to be a stranger!  ;)

Thank you all of you for your kind words about my poem. I wrote it a couple of days ago, early in the morning after a sleepless night. I guess it's an expression of how I've felt these last months, when I and so many others have tried to focus on the person that Heath was - and the world around us never stopped trying to smear him. It's my way of trying to put the spotlight back where it belongs: on the person that's lost, and all the little details that people that lost him will miss so much.

With love!  :ghug:
