I don't think any *deleted scene* would be dull in the case of BBM ;)   ;D

Nope, certainly not! Anything new I can get my hands on at this point is instant gold  ;D

Didn't mean the scenes would be dull..just the placement of them.. Will they be a post on the extras or will they do like the excellent Peter Jackson did for LOTR and Ron Howard has now done for Da vinci code and integrated them into the film, so the film itself will be longer :)

Good question.

More likely then not, though they will just be placed in a repository on the 2nd disc like most movies. It would be fantastic if they integrated them into the actual film though. What a treat that would be!

It might be six minutes of Lureen doing her nails. Riveting!  :8

THe way her nails look she don't spend as much as 6 minutes on them

Might not be new scenes, could be LONGER scenes already in the film, like when Ennis finds the shirts

Interesting -- I never thought of "deleted scenes" being put back into the movie where they would have been, as opposed to having them just on separate features DVD.  As you said, Esme, about Jackson and Howard doing for LOTR and DVC.  Cool.

Scenes were removed after the initial release. There is no doubt about that. Thousands saw them, yet when they went back for a second time some scenes had been cut. Yet the theatre trailer still has clues to these scenes. The running time of the DeLux vertion seems to be 6 minutes longer.

My guess is the film will be slightly longer and the second disc will have other material that was not included. But no one will know until January

Just as long as there's no additional footage of LaShawn talking. There's already way too much of that ::)

My guess is that there will not be any "director's cut" in the Jan release as Ang had deliberately  left out scenes which he thought didn't go with the flow of the movie.  That said, Disc 2 will probably contain all the those extraneous *deleted*/unseen scenes.  ;D

Okay, I get it.  I of course always saw that the trailer had scenes (and dialogue) not in the movie, but I thought maybe they made the trailer at some point along the way and just didn't bother to change it when the movie actually was released.  But, I didn't know that a longer version was actually seen by the public.  So, okay, that would be cool, a longer version and other "unusued" scenes, as opposed to deleted scenes.

Of course nothing about this is chance. The initial release, then recall of the reels to recut the film but leave the trailer, (or to exchange them at a pre-agreed moment) then the DVD, then the DVD de-lux version. A high deffinition release will follow.

The two audio CD's, the book to screenplay (which may also need an update to get it back to the original). All clever marketing. We are getting our roses stemmed!  I really don't care. I just cannot get enough BBM and cannot wait for products once they are available!

I know it's all marketing, but I don't care, either.  It's always been like this...and partly it isn't just the greedy suits.  Technology changes so fast -- we can also bitch about how we have to keep getting new computers and all that.  "Planned obsolescence" they used to call it...but that's off topic.  Except to say I'm usually quite behind the masses in getting new tech (unless it's cheap) and I'm not even thinking about HD at this point.

Anyway, that's what fans are for :)  We make them money, and they better be good to us!

Okay, I want to pre-order like now.  I guess I've been waiting just in case there's some better place to order from, you know, like I'll pre-order and then they'll come out with something a little different from some other source and I should have ordered from them!  So, anyone in US who has pre-ordered, have you done so through that Universal Studios link we have on our pages in this thread?

A review on the collector's edition already?  I think it's a review of the current release since nobody really knows what's in the collector's edition yet....  :s)

Soo... I guess the term "never before seen footage" meant something different than what we all expected it to be. I hope that review is BS, I really do.  ^*)

I highly doubt the review is credible.  The reviewer is from India, for god's sake, and how in the world would he have the inside knowledge of what's in Disc 2 when the official Universal Studios page doesn't even have the specifics available yet?   ^^)

Hehe...reading some discussions on imbd right now and most people seem hung up on the fact that the info doesn't say deleted scenes or, funnily enough this ticks them off most, no commentairy....

We wont know whats on it until it's here tho...

We do know there will be unseen footage as Universal have stated it.That reviewer has probably not even seen it or is watching some bootleg disc. The specs are all wrong.I don't think it relates to the collectors edition even though he says it does ::)

Could it be that we are not getting any deleted/unused footage?  The preamble says there is unseen footage, but the details don't show it?  :s)  ARGHHH!!!!!!  I hope it's just a mistake!
