Twisted.  Truth to tell, I can stare at these pix for hours.   They distill scenes in the movie.  They show you how much you miss when watching the film.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Have to leave slightly early today.  Need to replenish supplies after a wonderful time in Montreal.

Thanks everyone.  It is always a joy to be with friends in this forum.  Good night.

A quirky pic from the Castro Theatre on Oscar night:

I have a favor to ask....does anyone know if a screen cap exists of Jack in the doorway in the scene when Newsome tosses him the keys to get the formula out of the car. It is the most beautiful smile on Jack.........without his hat on. Thanks in advance <^(

You know tpe - these pics really demonstrate the brilliance of Jake's acting, even in a screencap his expression and the mood he was trying to get across in this scene is spot on. Will you let me know what you think when you can see them? These ones in particular have stopped me in my tracks. :)

He seems to have the gft of making a connection by just using simple actions ot inflections.  This is why the screencaps amaze me, as they show subtle details that we easily miss when we see the film.  I will definitely post my impressions when I get to see these.  Now, I am really curious to see them...

There is something about this picture of Jake with his hand placed so gently on the baby's head that just makes my overies come awake and say, "That's the man to father your children!"

Do you hear that upstairs?
