I just discovered this thread, I am so happy!!!  &**)  &**)

Yes, we are very happy!

I've seen a lot of these shots of the two of them, or individually, by the truck, but I don't think I've seen these that you just posted, Christie.  Thanks!!  I like this one of Ennis looking down at...what?  It goes with that other when when Jack is looking down and over at Ennis's...what?

I never realized how close they came to kissing in this scene until I got the dvd and went through this scene frame by frame (yeah, I really did).  <^(

Well, duh.  Of course you went through frame by frame!  What sane Brokie wouldn't??

Thanks, Hanna -- love the sequences.  This is always a fun scene.  I just love how Jack gets in Ennis's face all the time, always trying to get to him, get a rise out of him, so to speak...and eventually he sure does, doesn't he?

Weird -- is that a double exposure or what?  The image of a horse in the water.

kathy

No, I believe it is fading into the next scene.

I love these pics Hanna, especially this one! I love Ennis' concentration!

Unlike our sweet Jack, shoot first, then aim.

LOVE this in B/W.  I don't actually always like some pix in B/W...but this is well suited.  Just beautiful.  Sad and beautiful.

I wonder what they are looking at?

That's in the divorce scene when Ennis sees the white truck going past and Jack looks up to see what's spooked him, isn't it?

So sad.  And such incredible writing, directing, acting.  Just this little thing, Ennis looking at a passing truck, reminds us of his lifetime of fear and denial.

I love this pic -- it's the first time they look in each other's eyes.

Twisted, I love the gif! The sign is absolutely no problem, you even don't see when you look at the boys  ;)

I love it!  Thanks, Twisted!  This is just delightful.  I don't know why it should be so cool in miniature, when we can see the whole scene in the movie...but it is so cool.  Besides, it's just so incredibly wonderful to see them this way together, after SNIT...  I'm happiest for Ennis -- when was the last time he had a guy to horse around with?  Horse around with the ending being throw him down on the ground and kiss him?!  Yum.

Where it all began  <^(  <^(  <^(

Bless Jack for making the move...

This is probably properly discussed elsewhere, but it occurs to me...Jack could have reached over the put his hand on Ennis, instead of pulling Ennis's hand onto him.  Maybe I'll bring that up, in "How did Jack know to make a move on Ennis" thread.  Some subtleties and ramifications there...

I made this gif. Sorry about the sign over the left corner.

I love this gif, thanks Twisted!  Its like a little silent home movie within the movie, I love it.

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.
