 :ghug:  :ghug:

I know it's all so frustrating, just to think of the could have beens. But there are so many could have beens. I'm taken as far back as when Jim Henson died. He had pneumonia. One day he felt a little sick, the next he was gone. The thought echoing through everyone's mind, I'm sure (especially his family's) was "If only..." If only they'd realized how sick he was. If only he'd gone to a doctor sooner. If only...

I don't think it falls under the heading of speculating to express this anger and frustration. As long as we don't belabor the issue of details, we should feel free to get these feelings out. I hope you know I share your frustration, as well as your sorrow, over this tragic chain of events that led to the loss of our angel. :ghug:
For a moment in our lives. Forever in our hearts.

LJN, that's so nice.  ^f^

I have to admit the one thing I haven't had is a real hug from someone in person. A few people called and that was nice, but a warm hugs right now must be very nice. I'm glad for all of you who have that, and in the meantime, I draw comfort from the ones I've been getting here. :ghug:

I consider all these post to be hugs, FlowerChild.  I can't even mention Heath to anyone else because I start crying.  Here, I can read all the beautiful posts and cry to my heart's content.  Shared tears are hugs, I think.  It is good that we have this place so we know how much other people are hurting, too, and missing our man.

Hi Rosie. I'm really in kind of another place in the whole world right now....  :ghug:

Good to see someone else is up and about these parts. I'm just lost in the pieces of why and how, and howw, and howww.   :-\\

we will never, but what I find hard to digest is why on earth would someone call her, instead of 911,

There are so many reasons as to why people react the way they do when they face a crisis. Some people become stone cold and do all the right things and completly break down later, some can't do anything, and some do silly and stupid things. It is human nature to react differently and I don't think it is our place to judge someone we do not know.

Please let us not start with the what ifs and whys.

I want to echo Rosie, love to everyone here, this place is helping me deal with the devastating and tragic loss of Heath.  Still doesn't feel real.  Thanks to everyone for being here.  :ghug:

This is a lovely tribute to Heath from Adam Sutton, who worked with Heath on Ned Kelly and BBM.

:ghug: to you Christie

I just sent an email to a Norwegian gossip mag. They had used the image of "our" things at Heaths appt. The ones Ethan laid down. And I told them how we on this site, through meetings, have become friends in real life. And that I am consoling my friends, and being consoled in return by friends now. :) Wether we have met or not, it is good to be here together.

Oh esme.   :ghug:  I see the tribute Ethan laid down everywhere, and I can't believe that such a beautiful thing that brought us all together has had to be used in this way.  It breaks my heart to think of it.  But I am glad that I am here, with you all, because it helps me deal with the pain and the grief a little better.   :\'( :\'( :ghug:

I just realised that all those who were at the EGT in London have the same little white cowboy hat and badge that Ethan left at Heath's apartment :-\\ I think it's a comfort, though - just one more thing that ties us all together with the man whose awesome performance led us here.

Very nice thing to do Esme, I am so pleased they chose 'our' tribute to spread around the world, I just wish it was being spread about under happier circumstances.

I am going to Broome Street in a few hours and pay respect to Heath with flowers, a button and a card from the forum

On the card, I wrote

Thank you Ethan to do that for us all  :ghug:

Hello, Simone---I had deleted the post before you replied.  Am so very tired, exhausted, and do not know what the moderators find right
or wrong, so I just took it off.
Will return the part you made reference to, however.  There had been a network report about Heath's sleep disorder, and how he had walked
all night, alone, often ending up at Washington Park at daybreak, where he would sometimes join in the chess games. The regulars there said he was
easy to get along with and good company and down-to-earth.  But the insomnia had always left him weary.
I would have loved Heath as a friend if he had been a garbage collector, or if his career had failed.  He stood out from others, as someone who
loved and needed love, and in his endless personal kindness towards those he could easily have ignored.
It hurts to think of that sleep disorder, and the lonely walks, and yet how he would be so very able to sit down and talk.  And so I said I wish
we had been there, in that time period, and been company to him, when he was so very tired.  He would not have brushed us off. Any of us.
The deleted sections---nothing terrible, just a question of what to pass along from the news and what to leave alone.

Carefree Wind - your signature is truly touching. It's from the poem "To an athlete dying young" by A.E.Houseman, isn't it? One of my favourite singer/songwriters - Eric Bogle - put the poem to music on his last CD. I hadn't thought of it before, but it's really fitting here....

You are all very welcome  :ghug:

It's just such a slight ease of heart, having this place to come to, even in this time of profane sadness.

Even though my posts in this thread thus far, have been deviod of much sadness, it is there, just hidden deep inside, as many of my emotions often are. But I do share your pain, and understand it fully.

When Steve Irwin died, yet another wonderful Australian, it felt as if my whole world was falling apart. I hadn't experienced such sadness and shock since the death of my cousin, many years before. I suppose that now with Heath's passing, my emotions are in self defence mode? When I see the news reports, a part of me still can't believe that he is truly gone. But I know that shall pass, and acceptance will take its place.

It is my hope, to be able to visit Heath's place of rest, here in Perth, sometime after his funeral. If this is to happen, then I shall carry with me the thoughts and love that you all share for this most wonderful of men, and lay them there.

Bad judgement calls all around.  If they couldn't wake him, 911 should have been first call.  I don't understand why they didn't do it.  Even if  it was hopeless, EMS, (Emergency Medical Service) should have been alerted.   Funny how common sense escapes us sometimes.
