Jack is with the sheep and dogs having a nap, while Ennis down in camp  whittles a little wood horse looks up to the sky...
Next scene:
Ennis cleans up the campfire from a meal, Jack is on his horse preparing to ride back to the sheep,
shouts back to Ennis as he rides off:

No more beans!  :)
"What Jack remembered and craved in a way he could neither help nor understand was the time that distant summer on Brokeback when Ennis had come up behind him and pulled him close, the silent embrace satisfying some shared and sexless hunger."

New scene:

Ennis is down at the bridge getting his supplies, finishes packing the mules, steps back, looks at the mules and shakes his head.

Basque:  Something wrong?

Ennis:  Yes sir...why didn't we get the powdered milk and the spuds?

Basque:  That's all we got.

The chilean looks at the list and says:

-Thought you didn't eat soup.
Ennis:-Yeah,well,I'm sick of beans.
Chilean:-Too early in the summer to be sick of beans.
Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

Ennis grabs the mules' reins, gives the Chilean a dirty look,
heads back to camp after instructing the mules . . . .

ENNIS:  Come On!

Ennis heads back up the mountain enjoying the scenery,
being horseback, humming to himself . . .
we get to drinkin' and talkin' an all

New scene:  Ennis is riding his horse and leading two mules.  He comes to a clearing which has a small stream.  On the far bank of the stream is a bear looking for fish.  The bear growls loudly at Ennis.  The sight and sound  of the bear scares Ennis' horse.  The horse rears up and throws Ennis.  The horse and mules run away from the bear (and Ennis).   The running causes the packs on the mules to come off and food is scattered all over the trail.  Ennis, with blood on his forehead, goes chasing after the horse and mules.

Ennis (angrily):  Come back here...

New Scene.  Jack is seen riding back to camp at the end of the day.  He remains on the saddle as he scans around looking for Ennis.  There is a worried and puzzled expression on his face even as he dismounts...

Jack, sitting next to the bonfire and drinking whiskey, finely Ennis arrives groaning and in bad humor.
JACK (in full on bitch mode): Where the hell you been? I'm up with the sheep all day, come back here hungry as hell and all I find is beans.

Ennis storms past him and Jack catches sight of the cut on his head. His tone softens and he continues,

What in the hell happened, Ennis?

Jack dips his bandana in a pot of water then goes to tend to the cut on Ennis's head. Ennis grabs the bandana away from him and does it himself...but their fingers touch for a brief second before he does.

Jack: Well, we gotta do somethin' 'bout this food situation. Maybe I'll shoot one a the sheep.

new scene, later after supper.
Ennis is preparing to mount his horse,
Jack walks up looking pretty morose that his plan for both spending the night in camp has come to naught.
Looks at Ennis . . .

Ennis, smoking, coughs, clears his throat.

JACK: Won't get much sleep I can tell ya' that.

ENNIS: Yup.
(then to his horse) Come on . . .
(begins his journey to the sheep)

Jack for the first (but not the last) time watches as Ennis rides slowly away . . .

The "can of beans" scene.  ;)

As jack was trying to open a can of beans...  Ennis undresses...

ENNIS  Shot a coyote up there...  Big son of a bitch... balls the size of apples....  Looked like he could eat himself a camel...  You want some of this hot water?

Jack, spilling the beans, says:  No it's all yours.

Jack studiously keeps his eyes on the potato he is peeling as Ennis, totally naked, washes himself in the background.
